🙏 Praying for Our Church Community

Each week, our LCS administrative team is setting aside time to pray for the churches represented within our school community. We are grateful for the many local churches faithfully serving our students, families, and greater Lafayette community.

This week, we invite you to pray alongside us for:
• City of God Church
• Clear River Church
• Colfax Christian Church
• Colfax UMC - Indiana
• College Park Church

Join us in praying for their pastors and leaders, their ministries, their congregations, and the ways God is using each church to share His love and truth in our community.

🌍 Bonus Chapel!

This morning, our middle school students had the opportunity to hear from Jared and Anna Odle, missionaries who have been serving in Ghana for the past 10 years.

During their time in Ghana, Jared and Anna discovered that many people in the communities they serve do not know how to read. In response, they have helped build a library and started reading clubs in local schools, using literacy as an opportunity to build relationships and share the love of Jesus.

The Odles are currently back in the United States sharing about what God is calling them to next: building a junior high school in Ghana where students can receive an education while also hearing the Gospel.

As we focus on our United theme from Philippians 2:1–3 this year, today was a beautiful reminder that following Jesus means looking beyond ourselves, caring for the needs of others, and serving together for the sake of the Gospel...even across the world. ❤️

We are thankful Jared and Anna took the time to share their story, their ministry, and what God is doing in Ghana with our middle school students!

Middle school parents: Ask your student how children in Ghana greet their elders. 😊 We’ll let them tell you!

A big shoutout to one of our church partners, Northview Church Greater Lafayette Campus, for generously blessing each of our employees with a goodie bag! ❤️

Our staff felt extra loved and spoiled by this thoughtful surprise. A special thank you to the Northview students who spent time putting the bags together over the weekend—we are definitely well fueled and feeling appreciated!

🏐 Volleyball

Tuesday
• 5/6 Volleyball — Loss vs. Prairie Crossing
• 7/8 Volleyball — Loss vs. Living Stone

Thursday
• 5/6 Volleyball — WIN in 2 sets vs. St. Boniface
• 7/8 Volleyball — WIN in 2 sets vs. Attica

Saturday
Our 5th grade team competed in the St. Boniface Tournament, facing two other teams throughout the day. The tournament ended in a three-way tie, with each team winning three sets and losing three sets! Rossville ultimately took first place based on the fewest total points allowed. Our Knights battled hard all day and picked up some great set wins along the way!

Tuesday vs. Legacy Sports Club — WIN, 6–1!

🏃 Cross Country

At Tuesday’s Hornet Invitational, one of our female runners finished in the Top 20!

Today, our Knights competed at the Wildcat Classic at Indiana Wesleyan:
• One of our girls finished 49th out of 167 runners
• Two of our boys finished 43rd and 46th out of 162 runners

We’re proud of our Knights—not only for the wins and strong performances, but for the way they continue to compete, encourage one another, and represent Lafayette Christian School and Christ well.

Win or lose, we’re grateful for the effort, teamwork, and character our student-athletes show each time they step onto the court, field, or course. ❤️💛

Double-header, part two! 📚⚔️

Today, our 3rd and 4th graders put their reading, and their memories, to the test during this year’s Battle of the Books!

Students who chose to participate spent part of their summer reading a selected group of books. Today, five teams worked United to recall characters, details, events, and more as they competed to answer questions about everything they had read.

It took great memories, quick thinking, and plenty of teamwork!

Congratulations to Team 4, this year’s Battle of the Books champions! 🏆 Their hard work earned them a free meal at Steak ’n Shake.

Great job to all of our readers who took on the challenge and represented their teams so well today! 📖❤️💛

It’s a Friday double-header on our socials today! ❤️💛 We have two great moments from our students to share, starting with this morning’s 3rd–5th grade chapel.

Today, students continued exploring what it means to be United. Through the Great Commission, they were reminded of Jesus’ call to go and make disciples, and how, as followers of Christ, we are united in that mission.

Students then had the chance to put teamwork into practice with a challenge of their own: How do you get an orange out of the bottom of a vase without spilling any of the water? 🍊💧

Groups worked together, shared ideas, and problem-solved their way toward a solution.
