Our Rookie employee kept her hands busy this afternoon as we showed her another popular experiment we send out to our schools: the EXP-205P. 🧫

In this lab we learn about electrophoresis, western blot technique, color development, antibody reactions, and peroxidase labeling. 🤓

This experiment is fun to do, especially if you want to learn something about how a species genetic makeup affects antibody response. 🧬

Back in the 1980’s when the founder of MBI was working hard on creating fun and educational lab courses that we still use today, he stumbled upon a roadblock when it came to creating combs for the electrophoresis casting trays. 🙇🏻‍♂️
He actually had to hire an artist to create molds for the combs, which was expensive and inefficient. 👨🏽‍🎨
There was only a limited number created, which also posed a problem later in supporting Modern Biology’s original electrophoresis equipment. 🙍🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
Since then, we have tried our hand at making our own, and found an environmentally friendly and innovative solution which has solved the age-old dilemma!💡 This has allowed for us to help provide replaceable parts for the easily-lost combs supplied with the original lab equipment! 😁🧫
