Embracing the uncomfortable is one of the most vital parts of creative growth. 🎨

Today with Woodvale Talented Visual Arts students, Ms. Leah introduced Celluclay—a medium that often pushes tactile boundaries. Many students were hesitant to swap their sculpting tools for their bare hands.

One brave soul said he’d go first. He touched it, smelled it, and let out a hilarious, full-blown gag with tears in his eyes—yet immediately owned the moment with a smile.

Talented Visual Arts isn’t just about the final finished piece; it’s about building resilience, curiosity, and adaptability through hands-on exploration.

🎉 Making Big Legal Moves⚖️📜

Students in Mr. Cole’s Law Studies class recently stepped into the shoes of attorneys, pitching high-stakes legal arguments to a legal team.

The challenge? Convince the legal team whether or not a case holds the constitutional weight and merit to be brought all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court! 🏛️💼

Our students did an incredible job researching precedent, dissecting complex constitutional issues, and delivering persuasive oral arguments. Seeing our future lawyers, judges, and leaders sharpen their critical thinking and courtroom confidence in action was amazing!

Next stop NOLA? 🦁🎷

Our Lafayette High seniors took on Big Easy higher ed this Tuesday with tours of Tulane University and Loyola University New Orleans! From beautiful green spaces to vibrant city vibes, our Mighty Lions got a first-hand look at college life, academic programs, and what’s waiting for them after graduation.

We can’t wait to see where our seniors will begin their next chapter!

Teacher takeover 🍎📝

3rd grade gifted students at Woodvale took turns teaching today’s math lesson to their peers. Real learning happens when students are able to apply the knowledge they’ve learned, give feedback on ways to improve their work, as well as how these math problems can help them in the real world.

Science in action 🌊

Our 8th graders at Edgar Martin Middle School explored the power of constructive and destructive forces using stream tables and scientific river modeling media to see how water both tears down and creates land. We love when our student interns are fully invested in our lessons—shoutout to Ms. Sherman, Mr. Klein’s student intern, for leading such an awesome hands-on activity!

From our bright-eyed first graders tackling some of their very first tests with focus and curiosity, to our high school juniors and seniors meeting with university representatives from schools like Yale—every milestone matters.

Behind every college visit is a story that started with small, everyday moments of effort, guidance, and discovery. We are so proud of our students at every step of their journey, and we can’t wait to see where their hard work takes them next! ✨
