🌊 3rd Grade Engineering Challenge! 🌊

Mrs. Kennison and Mrs. Mullins’ third-grade classes wrapped up their unit on weather, climate, and reducing the impacts of weather hazards with an exciting engineering challenge!

Students were challenged to design and build a seawall to help protect their community from flooding caused by a storm surge during a hurricane. Working like real engineers, teams used the Engineering Design Process to plan, build, test, and improve their seawalls.

Some teams kept their communities completely protected, while others let a little water make its way in. No matter the outcome, students learned that engineers use testing, problem-solving, and redesign to develop solutions to real-world problems.

We are so proud of our young engineers for putting their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to work! 🌧️🏗️🌊

💗✨ 9 to 5 Day at Broadmoor! ✨💗

Today, Broadmoor Elementary celebrated the life and legacy of Dolly Parton with a little denim, a lot of pink, plenty of big hair, and some serious Dolly spirit! 🤠🦋🎶

Dolly’s legacy reaches far beyond her music. Her kindness, generosity, love of reading, and commitment to helping children dream big have made a lasting impact on generations.

Our Broadmoor faculty and staff had so much fun celebrating a woman who reminds us that a little kindness can go a long way. 💕📚

Big dreams. Kind people. Brighter tomorrows.

Thank you to our amazing Broadmoor staff for making 9 to 5 Day so much fun and helping us celebrate Dolly in true Broadmoor style! 💖👢✨

📚🐻 Broadmoor Teachers & Staff Million Word Reader Club! 🐻📚

We are excited to announce our Broadmoor Teachers & Staff Million Word Reader Club!

Our students hear us talk about the importance of reading every day, and we want to show them that the teachers and staff of Broadmoor are readers, too! ❤️📖

Our goal is to share our love of reading with our students and continue building a schoolwide culture where talking about books, sharing recommendations, and celebrating reading are part of what we do!

Today, Millie the Book Bear made her rounds around Broadmoor to surprise and recognize our first FOUR Teacher & Staff Million Word Readers of the 2026–2027 school year! 🐻🎉

📚 Ms. Callie Richard, 5th Grade Teacher • 3 MILLION words
📚 Ms. Kate Fisher, GT Teacher • 2 MILLION words
📚 Ms. Kendra Courville, 4th Grade Teacher • 2 MILLION words
📚 Ms. Raven Gary, PK Teacher • 1 MILLION words

Millie surprised each of them in their classrooms and presented them with their official Million Word Reader badge! 🏅📚

We can't wait to see who joins the Million Word Reader Club next! Keep reading, Broadmoor Bears! ❤️💙🐻📖

🔢✨ Math in Action! ✨🔢

Ms. Babineaux’s 1st graders had a blast putting their math skills to work! 🐻❤️💙

Students practiced estimating, counting, and recording collections of objects while learning through hands-on exploration. We love seeing our Bears having fun while building strong math skills! 🧮👏

Way to go, 1st grade! 🌟
