๐ Congratulations to the students at Centaurus High School who were named among this yearโs winners of the Beamline for Schools competition!
This August, 10 Centaurus students and their coaches will travel to Hamburg, Germany, where theyโll work alongside European scientists at the DESY Research Centre.
โTeam Centauri Starsโ โ made up of members of the Centaurus Engineering Club โ was selected as one of just five winning teams from around the worldโฆ and the only team representing the United States ๐บ๐ธ
Their project? Using silicon photomultipliers to detect Cherenkov radiation inside a glass bar โ cutting-edge physics research that most students donโt encounter until college or beyond.
This is what happens when talented students, dedicated educators, and incredible opportunities come together. We canโt wait to see what they discover.
