Hi All - I have sad news to report. John Rhoad passed away this morning - September 26 - in Alexandria. So far there are not many details but we do know there will be a small service next Tuesday October 3.

Update: The services will be at 11 am, at Kramer Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 9 that same morning. Obit:

Hello, Stephanie (McGee) Mays, Marshall High Band, class of 1987. I am emailing you from a mailing for his Surprise Retirement Party (SRP).

Sadly, it is believed that he is actively passing from this world to the next. I wanted as many of his former students to know in case they wanted to pray or think positive thoughts for him and his family while he is still among us.

We are all special and like family. BUT, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLOOD HIS FAMILY WITH CALLS AND TEXTS AT THIS TIME.

They will need those calls, texts, and cards, 3 weeks , 6 weeks from now, etc.

If you are on Facebook, his daughter Jeannie Payne Weaver has just done a public post. If you are friends with daughters Donnis Henderson, and Melissa Payne McCollum, they are posting as well, but they are on the "friends" privacy setting. Thanks. / Stephanie
