These 3 dedicated deputies not only keep our students safe throughout the day at school, they build relationships of trust with our students, and are at almost every event we host! Even Mighty couldn't wait to get a back to school picture with them!

The Lafayette High Mighty Lions are back on the field this Thursday for a scrimmage against Catholic High – New Iberia!

📅 Thursday, August 20
🚪 Gates Open: 5:00 PM
🏈 Scrimmage Begins: 6:00 PM
🎟️ Tickets: $8 online or at the gate
💳 Gate purchases are cashless
👜 Clear Bag Policy Enforced
🚫 No outside food or drinks

The attached Varsity Game Day Map will also be used for Thursday’s scrimmage. Please review it before arriving so you know where to park and which entrance to use.

General parking is located in the front parking areas of Lafayette High, with general entry through the designated WD/Ticket entrance. The map also identifies the pay/handicap lot, home and away fan areas, and gates that will be locked/no entry.

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Lafayette High School will transition to SchoolCash Online for school payments!

This change will make transactions safer, easier, and more convenient for our Lions and their families. SchoolCash Online provides 24/7 access to pay school fees and activity costs while reducing the amount of cash students need to carry on campus.

✅ What families need to do:

Update your information in JCampus and make sure your contact information is accurate.
Check your email for an invitation from SchoolCash Online. You must register using the specific link provided in that email.
Follow the registration instructions to properly connect your account to your student.

📧 Important: Invitations are sent according to the contact information and hierarchy listed in JCampus, so please check with the other parent or guardian and check your spam or junk folder if you do not receive an email.

🩺 Interested in a career in healthcare? Join Lafayette High HOSA! 🩺

HOSA, Future Health Professionals, is open to all Lafayette High students with an interest in healthcare and the medical field. You do not have to be in the Health Academy to join!

If you would like to become an active HOSA member this year, please read through the welcome letter for important information. To remain an active member, students must:

🤝 Earn 12 participation points through volunteer service, meetings, and fundraisers.

💚 Have an interest in exploring the many opportunities the healthcare field has to offer.

Reminder Parents and Students 📵📵

‼️State law requires that ALL unauthorized technology is completely powered off AND stowed away in a bag (not a pocket). If caught, state law requires faculty to confiscate the phone and turn it in to the front office.
This is from the time they step through the doors at intake until the dismissal bell at 2:35. (No phone or smartwatch can be used at a vending machine between these times as well)

The LPSS School Board voted this summer to approve the changes below to the consequences of being caught with an unauthorized electronic device.

Please remind your children so we can partner with you to take a proactive approach and avoid having to issue these consequences.💚🖤
