Opéra Louisiane invites emerging singers ages 20–30 to audition for its Young Artist Residency. This one-year appointment provides an opportunity to gain meaningful experience through participation in the company’s mainstage productions, educational programming, and community outreach initiatives. The residency includes a one-time stipend.

Auditions will be held on September 11, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall at LSU.

Throughout the residency, the Young Artist will be considered for roles and performance opportunities appropriate to their voice, experience, and artistic development. Responsibilities will include participating in community outreach events, educational programs, rehearsals and stage performances.

Applicants should be prepared to make a dependable, year-long commitment to the residency. Reliable transportation and a flexible schedule are required, as the selected artist must be available for rehearsals, performances, and outreach activities as needed.

In addition to consideration for the Young Artist Residency, all auditioning singers will also be considered for appropriate roles in Opéra Louisiane’s 2026–27 season.

All singers planning to audition must complete the Young Artist Residency Audition Form in advance. The form will ask for your contact information, vocal background, planned audition selections, résumé, headshot, and general availability.

We couldn’t be more proud of our incredible campers and everything they accomplished. They learned vocal skills, built confidence in dance class, and let their star power shine in acting and microphone techniques workshops. This week was one to remember! 💫
