Student session with French Tech company Klaxoon...

As part of their US Tour, one of Lafayette’s French tech company partners, KLAXOON, is coming to Lafayette to share their internationally-accessible cloud technology. Klaxoon has made Lafayette one of 16 city stops on their way to SXSW. We are in some good company (Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, NYC, Austin, etc.) and I hope we can have a great turnout.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator/Manager will be responsible for marketing the Brown & Brown brand in the Louisiana and Mississippi markets, including brand awareness campaigns, social media and online presence. In addition, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator/Manager will assist the sales team in the creation and production of tailored prospecting materials. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator/Manager will also assist the Profit Center Leader in the effective communication of internal initiatives, news, and updates.

Essential Duties & Functions:

• Act as Communications & Brand Ambassador between Gulf States offices and Corporate Brand Team Leader.
• Create content and manage publishing calendar for Gulf States social media channels.
• Manage all aspects of the Brown & Brown Gulf States website.
• Track website and social media analytics.
• Write press releases to announce newsworthy information.
• Coordinate internal communications to Gulf States teammates.
• Manage promotional products & client gifts as directed.
• Produce marketing collateral in-house.
• Leverage corporate resources to design and deliver tailored/custom sales materials.
• Support regional client email campaign initiatives.
• Represent Brown & Brown at community and industry events when appropriate or directed.

Assist in the following when work load allows:

• Create direct mail, newsletters and flyers to be distributed to clients, prospects and centers of influence.
• Create and/or edit client-facing written and electronic communications.
• Support the logistics and promotion of client and/or prospect seminars and webinars.
• Support sales and account management team with the presentation of client information in the form of booklets via the Versant 180 printer.
• Produce and/or coordinate the installment of office furnishings for Gulf States offices that reflect our corporate culture.

Required Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising or Communications disciplines
• 2-4 years of experience in a similar position

Required Skills:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365
• Proficient in graphic design, including Adobe Creative Suite (lnDesign/Photoshop)
• Proficient with social media platforms (Facebook/Linkedln/Twitter/lnstagram)
• Exceptional telephone demeanor
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent proofreading skills & attention to detail
• Creativity and ability to problem-solve
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Ability to multi-task and take initiative

Position Reports to: Executive Director
Essential Functions and Basic Duties

Scope of Position: Responsible for developing, implementing and managing a public relations/community outreach plan to promote MPCS to clients, donors, sponsors and our general community. The Community Liaison is also responsible for the implementation and management of new marketing and fundraising campaigns.

Responsible for managing public relations and promotion of:
• Overall marketing of MPCS
• Fundraising events & programs
• Client programs & services
• Media relations (including sponsorships, press releases & production of promotional spots)

Responsible for the development and management of social media.

Responsible for developing and executing a communications and outreach plan in surrounding parishes.

Responsible for the implementation and management of new marketing and fundraising campaigns such as:
• Individual Giving
• Employee Giving

Responsible for managing MPCS’ participation in:
• Health fairs
• Community organization meetings

Responsible for representing and speaking on behalf of MPCS.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications: The position requires experience in marketing, public relations, public speaking and fundraising - preferably in a non-profit organization. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. TV media experience is a plus. Candidate should be a good-natured self-starter with strong interpersonal, communication, multi-tasking, organizational, time management and technology skills.

Job Overview
The Project Communications Specialist will be responsible for providing on-site communications support for CB&I’s Cameron LNG Liquefaction Project (Hackberry, LA.)
The position will have a direct-line reporting structure to CB&I’s Senior Vice President, Global Communications and Brand Management, and a matrixed reporting structure to the Project Directors. The successful candidate will be a versatile professional, possessing a demonstrated blend of internal and external communications experience, and the ability to manage multiple duties and a dual reporting structure.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
The Project Communications Specialist will have responsibilities to include (but not limited to):
Act as liaison between CB&I projects and the Corporate Communications group to manage external inquiries, develop talking points, secure approvals for regular media inquiries
Design, plan, and implement the projects’ employee relations program, policies and procedures as they relate to improving moral and rewarding positive behaviors including company events, commemorative products and employee recognition
Interface with joint venture partners and customer communications and projects leads on-site and on relevant events
Foster and maintain relationship with joint venture partners and customers for all project communications to create one unified message, providing support when needed
Develop and disseminate site communications including but not limited to videos, banners, posters, presentations, memos, site events, emergent information, etc.
Support the drafting of “all hands” communications in multiple formats including print and multimedia
Plan, coordinate and organize site events for CB&I with multiple departments including all hands meetings, safety celebrations, open house, and media events as requested by customers, as approved through project management.
Monitor/amend site communication plan and procedure regarding camera policy, image security, videos and customer relations
Manage philanthropic efforts and campaigns to the local communities, coordinated with CB&I’s corporate office
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required in Communications or other related area; or minimum of 5 years of experience
The ideal candidate should have excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to execute external and internal communications strategies that are aligned with business goals and objectives
Experience should include use of Adobe creative software, news writing, speechwriting, employee communications and proofreading ability
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Experience with photography and video editing preferred
Experience working on project or field sites preferred
