Mintonye had their annual 5th Grade Breakfast today! Fifth graders invited their loved ones to eat with them, reflect on memories and watch slideshows that each child made in technology class with Mrs. Yost.

5th grade families, feel free to add any pictures you took at the breakfast! Thank you for attending.

We hosted our annual "Picnic on the Playground" yesterday. The weather was considerably cooler than picnics in previous years, but everyone still had a great time. Mr. Richardson, Miss Shelby, Mrs. Pruitt, Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Melvin braved the chilly temperatures and took to the dunk tank for students that had paid for tosses to try to dunk them. We are so fortunate to have many generous families that offered donations so that all students and staff were able to enjoy a Kona Ice.

Second-grade students from Mintonye Elementary recently enjoyed a memorable day of hands-on learning at Cole Elementary’s Nature Quest. During the educational enrichment experience, students met their pen pals and participated in a variety of engaging lessons focused on amphibians, muscular systems, hellbenders, walnuts, and reptiles. They also learned basic fishing techniques and had the opportunity to try fishing themselves. Many students were excited to catch one or even two fish during the event!

A special thank-you goes to Mrs. Christopher, Natural Resource Educator, for organizing the day and coordinating the many subject-matter experts who shared their knowledge with students from both Cole and Mintonye Elementary Schools. Mrs. Christopher also secured sponsors who generously provided lunch for all second graders and volunteers.

Students additionally enjoyed an entertaining performance by Brain Break Academy, whose interactive demonstrations kept the group engaged, laughing, and learning throughout the day.

These students have read and passed their AR quizzes for 10 Young Hoosier books—what an achievement!

The Young Hoosier program, through our library, encourages students to discover new authors, explore different genres, and grow their love of reading. We’re so proud of their dedication and hard work! 👏
