About the name, Achilles Print Studio:

"I named Achilles Print Studio, after my dog who was a Great Japanese Akita. He was my best friend and he passed away in the summer of 2013. He was a loyal friend who was with me through multiple chapters of my life, and he is a constant reminder to stay strong and persevere. Some people might think that the name Achilles signifies a weakness, but it’s the opposite. Achilles, for me, represents willpower, and determination to succeed. I think it’s important, especially for artists, to continue to make work and put yourself out there even at times when doors seem to be closing. Follow your passion and believe in yourself." - Jessica Moore

A good friend and client who always brings in interesting pieces to frame, showed up with this original Metropolitan Opera poster painted and signed by David Hockney. Hockney passed away yesterday, so this is a tribute to his massive influence on the art world.

We miss you Louise Guidry. 🤍😓

We miss you Louise Guidry. 🤍😓

It is with sadness that the Lafayette Art Association shares the passing of our dear friend and charter member, Louise Guidry of St. Martinville, Louisiana. She was deeply loved by her family and cherished throughout the art community for her warmth and creative spirit.

A prolific artist, Louise continued painting until the end of her life and created more than 10,000 paintings. Her art was as bright and beautiful as she was and her presence brought joy and inspiration to so many. She passed peacefully at home last weekend at the age of 95.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and all who loved her. She will be greatly missed by the Lafayette art community and beyond!
