Our Kindergarten Pandas celebrated the end of their CKLA unit on "The Five Senses" this week with sensational culminating activities! ✋👁👂😛👃

They used their sense of touch to feel an arrangement of different objects and described the objects using unit vocabulary. Students also used their sense of smell to sniff out kitchen spices used to cook delicious treats.

They finished off the interactive lesson by watching and listening to popcorn POP! 🍿Everyone enjoyed the tasty treat afterwards. It was a great day being a Prairie Panda!

Talk about a great way to start the weekend! 💙🐼

Right before dismissal on Friday, we got to surprise Ms. Arielle Tillery with the news that she is Prairie Elementary’s New Teacher of the Year! 🎉

Ms. Tillery brings so much joy, enthusiasm, and care to her Kindergarten classroom, and we are so proud to have her as part of our Prairie family.

What a fun way to end the school week and celebrate one of our own! Congratulations, Ms. Tillery! We can’t wait to see all the wonderful things ahead for you! 💙🐼

Some surprises are extra special. 💙🐼

We had the best time surprising Mrs. Sara Cook with the news that she is Prairie Elementary’s Teacher of the Year!

And we couldn’t think of a better person to help us do it than her grandson, one of our very own Kindergarten Pandas, who got to hand his grandmother her flowers! 💐 Mrs. Cook’s daughter Katy, who is also part of our Prairie family as a SPED Resource teacher, joined Mrs. Brumley and Mrs. Chaisson for the surprise.

Three generations, one Prairie family, and one very deserving Teacher of the Year. 💙

Congratulations, Mrs. Cook! We are so lucky to have you loving and serving our students every day. 🐼💙

🐼💙 Meet this week’s Pandas of the Week!

Each week, every homeroom teacher selects one student to be recognized as their Panda of the Week! Students are chosen for demonstrating the qualities we want to see in our Prairie Pandas and for making a positive impact in their classroom and school community.

Our newest Pandas of the Week are announced every Friday morning and hold their special title for the following week. They also receive a certificate and a little prize to celebrate their recognition!

We’re so proud of this week’s outstanding Pandas! Keep up the great work! 💙🐼

🎉 Two incredible educators. Two very well-deserved honors. 🎉

Please join us in congratulating Sara Cook, Prairie Elementary’s Teacher of the Year, and Arielle Tillery, our New Teacher of the Year! 💙🐼

Ms. Cook brings so much heart, patience, and dedication to our SPED students each and every day. She is a fierce advocate for her students, a wonderful teammate, and someone who truly embodies what it means to meet every child where they are and help them grow.

Ms. Tillery has already made such an impact in Kindergarten! Her energy, care, and commitment to her students shine through in her classroom, and we are so lucky that she chose Prairie to begin her teaching career.

We are incredibly proud to have both of these outstanding educators representing Prairie. Our pandas are better because of the love and dedication they bring to our school each day.
