🧪✨ Science is even more exciting when it gets a little messy! ✨🧪

Our young scientists had a blast creating rainbow fizz foam during today's STEAM activity! 🌈💥

Using colorful ingredients, the children observed a fun chemical reaction as bubbling foam overflowed from their cups. While they were having fun, they were also building important early learning skills by:
🔬 Making observations
🌈 Exploring colors and cause-and-effect
💬 Using descriptive language
🤲 Strengthening fine motor skills
❓ Asking questions and making predictions

🩵❄️ Sensory Play in Action! ❄️🧡
Today our little learners explored fake snow through hands-on sensory play! They scooped, squeezed, poured, and compared the bright blue and orange fake snow while using their imaginations and working together.
This engaging activity supported so many important developmental skills, including:
❄️ Sensory exploration by feeling the soft, cool texture of the fake snow
🖐️ Fine motor development through scooping, squeezing, and transferring the snow
🧠 Critical thinking as children experimented with the texture and discovered how it could be molded and moved
🗣️ Language development by describing what they felt using words like soft, fluffy, cool, and squishy
🤝 Social-emotional skills by sharing materials, taking turns, and collaborating with friends
🔢 Early math concepts by filling, emptying, comparing amounts, and using measuring cups

What an incredible day of hands-on learning right here at STEAM Academy! 🐾💛

We had the joy of welcoming Columbia Park Zoo for an in-house visit, and our children were completely captivated by the experience!

One of the biggest highlights was learning all about snakes 🐍✨—our learners got to see, ask questions, and discover fascinating facts about how snakes move, eat, and survive in the wild. Their curiosity was on full display as they engaged, observed, and soaked in every moment.

Experiences like this bring our STEAM curriculum to life in such a powerful way. Instead of just learning about animals, our children get to experience science up close—building confidence, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
