Today we celebrate Lila Althea Fenwick, the first black woman to graduate from Harvard Law School and United Nations chief. United Ways is inspired as we fight for equal opportunity.

We love how our Read to Succeed volunteer went above and beyond. Here's Jerry Smelser doing a coin history presentation for a Glen Acres Elementary School class! He even gifted all 26 of students a half dollar to keep. Thank you, Jerry, for your dedication to volunteerism and caring for others!

🍎 What is K-Camp? It is a FREE four week summer camp. The camp is designed to prepare children with little to no preschool experience for their new roles as kindergarten students. Each student enrolled will receive a backpack of school supplies, books, and this year - a workbook to be done each day at home! We will provide videos each day of certified teachers helping the students with instructions on their work.

πŸ“š Through the course of K-Camp, students will learn skills ready to prepare them for kindergarten such as how to write their name, identify shapes, and more.

πŸ“ The day to pickup your camper's supplies will be on June 29th. This will include the workbook, and a backpack full of school supplies such as pencils, crayons, a folder, and more. We will collect all of the workbooks on July 29th, and your camper's reward for completing their assignments will be books and a T-shirt! Pickup and drop-off location information will be coming soon.
