As Of August 2021 Courtney’s Childcare was & is closed. I appreciate all of the interest in my home based business. I do truly love the work I did and miss my babies every day. I hope to reopen at a later date but am not in the place to at this time. Thank you so much for the interest, love & support that you all showed me over the years.

Experience Idea - Mood Stones.
Here the children are able to express how they are feeling by selecting different facial features from the mood stones. To make the resources we used magazine cut outs and stuck them down onto the stones with a glue stick. We provided markers and blank stones for those who wanted to create their own emotion on a rock.
Possible EYLF Outcome:
Wellbeing - Children become strong in their social and emotional wellbeing. Through Mood Stones the children can explore their emotions as they identify, label, acknowledge and attempt to understand them. This can help the children to make connections between the knowledge of the emotion and the actual feeling. The children can then develop strategies and techniques to accept the feeling and when necessary regulate their emotions.

Would have been a great project for BUG week

Today we enjoyed making these Sensory Balloon Bugs. The children can help fill the balloons with sand, play dough, water, bird seed or dirt. Then, let the creativity flow as they create their own bugs.

This is hard for me with my own children! I was the girl who always wanted Blue or purple hair with tattoos and piercings. But never had the guts to do it, why should I be surprised when my children have the guts that I never did???

The World Needs Uncommon Children, Not More Conformists I cherish uncommon children who dye their hair purple, ask uncomfortable questions and solve problems in ways that I'd never considered. The world needs more artists, eccentrics, rebels and dreamers, not more cookie cutter adults.
