Es muy importante no obstaculizar la labor de los agentes y mantener una distancia segura para ustedes y ellos.
Tiene el derecho legal de filmar o fotografiar a las fuerzas del orden en espacios públicos.
Su teléfono es suyo; no pueden obligarle a borrar contenido ni a entregar el dispositivo sin la debida autorización legal, como una orden judicial.
Recuerde que lo que graba es importante. Está intentando captar un registro, un momento o una actividad que podría servir para proteger o defender a su comunidad.
EVITE FOMENTAR EL TEMOR.
Grabar algo que NO está ocurriendo y completar los detalles con suposiciones no ayuda a nadie, especialmente a las comunidades vulnerables.
Utilizar el método A.C.T.U.A.R. puede ayudarle a identificar qué detalles grabar.

Actividad? que están haciendo?
Cuantos? número de personas implicadas?
Tiempo? hora exacta del avistamiento?
Ubicación? intersección exacta o punto de referencia, dirección?
Armas/Equipo? que llevan con ellos?
Ropa/Uniforme? cómo se visten o identifican los agentes?

It is vital that you do not get in the way of officers/agents and maintain a safe distance.
You have the legal right to film or photograph law enforcement in public spaces
Your phone is yours, you cannot be forced to delete or give up your device without the proper legal authority such as a warrant .
Remember what you record is important. You are trying to capture a record, a moment or activity that could be helpful or useful in protecting or defending your community.
NOT TO FEARMONGER.
Recording what is NOT there and filling in the blanks with words does not help anyone, especially vulnerable community.
Using S.A.L.U.T.E. can help you figure out the details to record.

Location? Where is this happening? Address? Nearest intersection, business?
Uniform? Clothing? What are they wearing? Badges? Are there words/Letters?

After careful consideration and extensive discussion, the Board of Directors of the Latino Center for Wellness and Education (LCWE) has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Tippecanoe Latino Festival, originally scheduled for Saturday, September 12th.

The Tippecanoe Latino Festival has long been a celebration of Latino culture, community, and togetherness. We know how much this event means to our community, and this decision was not made lightly. In recent days we have been closely monitoring developments affecting Latino communities and families across Indiana. These circumstances have led us to carefully consider what is best for our community and everyone who helps make this event possible.

We are deeply saddened that we will not be able to gather with our community this year. However, the safety and well-being of our community, participating partners, volunteers, and attendees must remain our priority.

Thank you for your continued support, understanding, and trust in LCWE. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has volunteered, sponsored, participated, attended, and helped us build this celebration over the years.

While we may not be gathering for the festival this year, our commitment to our community remains stronger than ever. We will continue to share resources and find ways to support, connect with, and uplift our communities.

Después de una cuidadosa consideración y extensas conversaciones, la Junta Directiva del Latino Center for Wellness and Education (LCWE) ha tomado la difícil decisión de cancelar el Festival Latino de Tippecanoe 2026, originalmente programado para el sábado 12 de septiembre.

El Festival Latino de Tippecanoe ha sido durante mucho tiempo una celebración de la cultura, la comunidad y la unión de nuestra comunidad latina. Sabemos lo mucho que este evento significa para nuestra comunidad, y esta decisión no se tomó a la ligera.

En los últimos días, hemos estado siguiendo de cerca los acontecimientos que afectan a las comunidades y familias latinas en todo Indiana. Estas circunstancias nos han llevado a considerar cuidadosamente qué es lo mejor para nuestra comunidad y para todas las personas que hacen posible este evento.
Nos entristece profundamente no poder reunirnos con nuestra comunidad este año. Sin embargo, la seguridad y el bienestar de nuestra comunidad, nuestros socios participantes, voluntarios y asistentes deben seguir siendo nuestra prioridad.

Gracias por su continuo apoyo, comprensión y confianza en LCWE. Estamos profundamente agradecidos con todas las personas que han sido voluntarias, patrocinado, participado, asistido y ayudado a construir esta celebración a lo largo de los años.

Aunque este año no podremos reunirnos para el festival, nuestro compromiso con nuestra comunidad sigue siendo más fuerte que nunca. Continuaremos compartiendo recursos y buscando maneras de apoyar, conectar y fortalecer a nuestras comunidades.

We’re lucky to have Civic Theatre right here in our community. If you haven’t been to one of their shows yet, definitely check them out and support local theatre!
