We’re so excited to have Brent Broussard investing in our 5th grade boys!

Mr. Broussard will be spending time with our boys, sharing encouragement, wisdom, and life lessons as they grow and prepare for the next chapter. Having positive role models and mentors who are willing to pour into our students is such a gift!

We’re grateful for Mr. Broussard's willingness to invest in these young men and look forward to seeing the impact of these relationships throughout the year. We know the time, conversations, and encouragement will mean so much to our boys! 💚💛

👻 The Least Scary Thing About October

Feedback isn't frightening — it just sounds that way! October's Power Word is Coachability: being open to learning from others and treating mistakes as practice, not failure. Our Cougar Cubs are about to discover that three little letters, "y-e-t," can turn "I can't" into "I can't... yet." Ask at home: "What's something you're still learning to do?"

⭐️Sunday Staff Spotlight⭐️

We’re celebrating our faculty and staff who continue to read, reach new milestones, and inspire our students through their love of reading! Some have now reached an incredible 300,000 words, while others are proudly receiving their first reading badges.

Every page, every chapter, and every word count! We’re so proud of our staff for being such wonderful reading role models for our students. 💚💛📖

Keep reading, Cougar Cubs!

First grade French immersion students in Mrs. Vincent’s class partnered up to read “Bud the Cat”from their CKLA readers. After reading, they sequenced and illustrated four important events from the story on a graphic organizer. A great way to practice reading comprehension while bringing the story to life! 📚

This week in the library, we read the book Pumpkin Jack, explored the life cycle of a pumpkin, and met our very own pumpkin, Jacklyn!

We are so excited to watch Jacklyn change throughout the year! Students will be observing her, making predictions, and learning along the way. We can’t wait to see what happens! 🎃🍂

What a wonderful turnout for our inaugural Grandparents, Boots & Breakfast! 🤠

Our school was filled with smiles, laughter, and special moments as we welcomed so many grandparents to Evangeline. Grandparents hold such a special place in the lives of our children, offering love, wisdom, encouragement, and support that will be cherished for years to come.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this first Boots & Breakfast such a memorable occasion. We are so grateful for the special role our grandparents play in our students’ lives and in our EES family. What a wonderful way to celebrate the people who mean so much to our Cubs!

A special thank you to our CAFE partners, IslandBridge Wellness & Education Initiative, RustiQue Rose Event Centre, and Bridge Ministry of Acadiana for helping make this special morning possible. We appreciate your support of our students and families! 💚💛

Our September Power Word is COMMUNICATION!

This month in library, we’ve been learning that communication is more than just talking. It’s sharing information, thoughts, or feelings with someone else through the way we talk, listen, write, and use our bodies to understand each other and be understood.

Through read-alouds and fun activities like Telephone and Charades, our students have been practicing how to communicate clearly, listen carefully, and pay attention to the many ways people share ideas and feelings.

Communication is a skill we use every day, and our Cougar Cubs are learning that being a good communicator also means being a good listener! 💚💛
