Valley High School Football Season to Proceed as Scheduled at Home Stadium Following Track Project Pause

VALLEY, AL — Valley High School is pleased to announce that Rams Football will play all home games at Valley High School Stadium as scheduled this season.

The stadium’s track resurfacing project, which began immediately after graduation in May, was initially scheduled for completion in mid-July to provide a one-month cushion before the start of football season. However, once initial work began, unexpected foundation issues were identified. Updated project details received last week revealed that addressing these structural issues would extend the completion timeline by an additional 70 to 90 days from the date work resumed.

Faced with the choice between playing the entire season on the road or pausing construction until the conclusion of the season, district and school administration prioritized the vital role home games play for students, booster clubs, and the broader community. Administration immediately sought approval from state authorities and contractors to
temporarily halt the project.

All necessary permissions have officially been granted, allowing the track work to resume after football season ends and be completed before the Track and Soccer seasons begin.

While the track area will look different during this transition period and additional safety precautions will be in place, district and school officials are thrilled to welcome fans back to the stands. The public is invited to attend games, support our students and booster organizations, and pardon the progress as improvements continue.
