Does your child have a passion for music and performance? Summer is a great time for students interested in the LPSS Talented Music Program to continue developing their skills through practice, lessons, performances, and musical experiences. Every opportunity to grow as a musician helps prepare them for the evaluation process and future success.

Hey Cougar Families! Just because the school year is winding down doesn't mean the reading has to stop. We know that keeping those reading muscles strong over the summer is the absolute best way to crush it when school starts back up in August!

To help our students stay on track, beat the "summer slide," and keep smashing those reading goals, the Cougar Library will be open for special summer hours!

📚 What’s Happening at the Library This Summer?

Book Checkouts: Come grab fresh books to read at home!

STAR & AR Testing: Yes, the AR program will be OPEN all summer long! Students can read a book and take their quizzes right here in the library to keep their streaks alive and get a head start on next year's word count!

Tech Access: Need a computer or internet access for educational reading programs? Our library tech is ready for you.

Cougar Challenge: Did you know that reading just 4–5 books over the summer can prevent reading loss? Let's show everyone what Cougars can do!

Everything is completely FREE. We can't wait to see you! Drop by, beat the heat, and dive into a great book.

As schools across LPSS complete final grade verifications, report cards will begin becoming available online through the Parent Portal. This school year was filled with hard work, opportunity, and growth, and we are proud of the progress made by students across our parish.

🎾Our students had a blast during P.E. with a special visit from Acadiana Serves!

Students were introduced to the exciting game of tennis through fun, age-appropriate activities designed for all skill levels. From learning basic coordination and rallying to playing simple games, every student had the opportunity to participate — even those picking up a racket for the very first time!

The focus was on the FUNdamentals of tennis while creating a positive experience and showing students that tennis is a sport they can enjoy for a lifetime. Thank you, Acadiana Serves, for bringing the fun and helping our Cougars stay active & engaged!🎾🐾
