Read about two of our Spring 2026 ASRE Pathways Completers’ research! 🤟
“We didn't realize we were contributing to a groundbreaking discovery in climate research.”
What started as an undergraduate research project became a groundbreaking discovery hidden in the leaves of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s iconic live oaks.🌳
Students Izamary Lara and Clinton Vincent discovered carbon isotope ratios lower than previously recorded for other oaks, anywhere in the world, by studying the leaves from the oak trees across campus.
Their work, supported by the Vernon and Ruby Langlinais Endowed and Non-Endowed Research Funds in Sciences, highlights the powerful impact of philanthropy on student discovery and innovation at UL Lafayette.
