New Award Alert!
The Zonta Women in STEM Award recognizes eligible women from their second year of undergraduate study through their final year of graduate study for groundbreaking research, pioneering discoveries and/or exemplary contributions to advancing knowledge and innovation in STEM. URC 2026 Registration is now open! Register to attend on November 13-14, 2026 at the UL Lafayette Student Union.

Students can present full projects, partial projects, or project proposals, in the form of an oral presentation, a lightning talk, a poster presentation, and/or a creative activity.

Students can present in multiple categories at no extra cost.

Registration to attend/present: $30
(Includes conference admission for both days and Saturday brunch)
Cost for dinner: $10
(Includes dinner Friday and entrance to Collaboration Mixer)
Combined cost $40, includes registration and dinner
(Includes conference admission for both days, Friday dinner, entrance to Collaboration mixer & Keynote speaker, and Saturday brunch)

The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program is now accepting applications. SMART offers a unique opportunity for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) students to advance their education and jumpstart their careers.

For over 20 years, SMART has supported thousands of STEM students, fueling innovation and advancing critical technologies. More than a scholarship, SMART scholars receive full tuition, annual stipends, internships, mentorship, and opportunities for research funding. After graduation, they begin their civilian career with the Department of War (DoW), working as nonmilitary government employees solving complex national security challenges in their fields.

SMART scholars, whether pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree, or working as a DoW civilian, are part of a professional network of driven individuals advancing research and innovation in SMART STEM disciplines. Through mentorship, training, and innovation award opportunities, SMART helps scholars build the foundations to excel in STEM and contribute to a highly skilled DoW STEM workforce dedicated to enhancing the nation’s security and technological edge.

High school seniors and current undergraduate and graduate students who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply.
