🌍 Today’s Passion focused on the Great Commission and Farming God’s Way!

We were blessed to welcome Pastor Bill Sebald, who shared how he and his wife, Holly, serve in Liberia with Hope in the Harvest Missions International, on the campus of Liberia International Christian College, with missionary support through Global Outreach International.

Pastor Bill taught our students how Farming God’s Way brings together biblical truth, responsible agricultural practices, and faithful management to help people grow food, strengthen their communities, overcome poverty, and come to know Christ. It was a wonderful reminder that God can use our practical skills and individual passions to fulfill the Great Commission!

We also carved out time to pray with each other as a whole school gathered together.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” — Matthew 28:19

🐸 Learning comes alive when we stop and explore God’s creation!

🦋 Today, our students had a great time discovering frogs, praying mantises, moths, and other fascinating creatures around School Alive. Every new discovery became an opportunity to slow down, look closely, ask questions, and appreciate the incredible detail and variety God has placed in His creation.

🎉 Another great day at School Alive!

🇺🇸 Today, our student flag team changed the American, Indiana, and Christian flags, reminding us of the values of faith, freedom, and service that are woven into the life of our school.

✝️ We also kicked off our Passion classes by surveying students about their unique interests and God-given gifts. But before discovering what we’re passionate about, we focused on the greatest passion of all—the passion of Christ and His incredible love for us.

🤝 We ended our time together as one school family in worship and prayer, asking the Lord to guide our hearts, our learning, and our purpose throughout this school year.

🙏 Thank you for continuing to pray for our students, families, and staff as we seek to honor Christ in all we do.

🎉 What a wonderful first day of school at School Alive!

✝️ Our verse of the day was James 3:13, reminding us that true wisdom is demonstrated through a good life, good works, and genuine humility. We also remembered that wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord.

🤝 Today was filled with building relationships, establishing healthy structure, and preparing for a great year of learning and growth.

🙏 Please join us in praying for all students, families, teachers, and schools as they begin a new school year!

🎉 We’re excited to kick off a brand-new school year at School Alive!

Today our incredible staff came together for a productive Staff Day. We completed CPR, AED, and First Aid certification, prepared classrooms and learning spaces, participated in professional development, and most importantly, spent time praying over every student and family God has entrusted to us this year.

We are grateful for an amazing team and can’t wait to welcome our students tomorrow. Here’s to a year of growth, discovery, faith, and learning!

⚙️ Engineering Teacher Welcome

🎉 We are excited to welcome our new Engineering Teacher, Mrs. Courtney Evans, to the School Alive family.

Courtney brings a practical, service-minded spirit and a passion for solving real-world problems to the School Alive community. Known for her thoughtful communication, adaptability, and commitment to helping others succeed, she approaches challenges with patience, creativity, and determination. Courtney believes students grow when they are given meaningful opportunities to imagine, build, test, improve, and learn from both success and failure. As Engineering Teacher, she is excited to help students develop confidence, perseverance, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for the God-given ability to create solutions that serve others.

Courtney has nearly two decades of experience in operations, systems management, property management, client success, and organizational leadership. She has served as a consultant, vice president of operations, operations director, and property-management leader, overseeing complex projects, improving business processes, strengthening client relationships, and guiding organizations through technological upgrades and transitions. Courtney has also trained and mentored more than 100 professionals, developed automated reports, implemented software systems, and helped teams translate complicated technical challenges into clear and effective solutions. This broad experience equips her to connect classroom engineering with the practical demands of business, technology, construction, budgeting, communication, and project management.

Courtney is a Certified Apartment Manager and has extensive professional training in operational leadership, technical support, database management, automation, advanced reporting, software integration, security auditing, and strategic planning. Her experience with tools such as Yardi Voyager, RentCafe, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, customer-management systems, and basic SQL strengthens her ability to introduce students to the systems and technologies used in modern organizations. In her classroom, Courtney plans to guide students through age-appropriate, hands-on engineering projects—from bridges, boats, and simple machines to irrigation systems, electrical circuits, greenhouses, product prototypes, and community-centered design challenges. She is honored to help School Alive students become creative problem-solvers who use knowledge, skill, and faithful stewardship to meet genuine needs.

❤️ Healthcare Teacher Welcome

🎉 We are excited to welcome our new Healthcare Teacher, Mrs. Beth Joy Carlson, to the School Alive family.

Beth brings a sincere Christian faith, a nurturing spirit, and a deep love for children to the School Alive community. She views teaching as more than the communication of academic knowledge; she sees it as a calling to shape hearts, develop character, and help students recognize their God-given dignity and purpose. Beth is also a devoted mother of three boys who keep her busy cheering them on in their many athletic pursuits. Her experiences as a mother, educator, and coach have strengthened her desire to encourage young people spiritually, academically, physically, and personally.

Beth has experience teaching students from preschool through high school in both Christian and public-school settings. Across these roles, she has taught a variety of subjects, including Bible at First Assembly. Throughout her career, she has developed particular strengths in foundational literacy, classroom organization, lesson planning, biblical instruction, and creating a warm yet orderly learning environment. Former administrators have recognized her as dependable, flexible, encouraging, and deeply committed to helping every student reach his or her potential.

Beth also brings extensive coaching experience to School Alive. She has coached basketball for students from kindergarten through high school and volleyball for students in fifth through twelfth grade. She is currently an assistant basketball coach and has served in that role for the past three years. Beth earned a bachelor’s degree and has held Indiana teaching credentials in general elementary education and kindergarten, along with an Early Literacy Endorsement covering preschool through fifth grade. As School Alive’s Healthcare Teacher, she is excited to help students understand the importance of physical, mental, relational, and spiritual well-being while developing habits of discipline, teamwork, perseverance, compassion, and faithful stewardship.
