SSD's FACE (Family and Community Engagement) is celebrating Unity Day on Oct. 21! Students and staff are invited to join us for a week focused on kindness, acceptance, inclusion, and belonging. 🧡

There are plenty of ways to participate:
- Students can show what unity means to them through our “UNITYeveryDAY” Art Contest 🎨🎶💃
- Students and staff can participate in the 5-Day Unity Challenge, starting Oct. 19
- Wear orange on Unity Day, Oct. 21 🩳🥻

Today, we’re celebrating the IT professionals who help keep our school connected and moving forward! 💻👏

On IT Professionals Day, we recognize the talented professionals working behind the scenes to support the technology our students and staff rely on each day. From troubleshooting devices and maintaining critical systems to solving problems and keeping us connected, their expertise makes a difference throughout our school community.

Today, we’re celebrating our physical therapist, Becca Oschwald! 👏

Through her expertise, care, and individualized support, Becca helps students build the mobility, strength, and skills they need to participate more fully in learning and our school community. Their collaboration with students, families, and our school team helps create greater access, confidence, and independence each day.

Thank you for the skill, compassion, and dedication you bring to our students. We are grateful to have you as part of our school community!

One week down, and we’re off to a great start! 🎉

Our school has been full of learning, laughter, new routines, and plenty of opportunities to connect. We’re proud of the way our students have jumped into the new year and are already making our school community a wonderful place to learn and grow.

We loved welcoming everyone back and can’t wait to see what the rest of the school year brings!

Summer Lunches end this week, but we'll transition to After School Meals starting Monday! Operation Food Search will provide after school meals Monday-Friday at four branches. Stop by after school and enjoy a nutritious meal along with activities for kids. Meals must be eaten on-site and will be available free of charge for children ages 5-18.
