Please join us in welcoming Ms. Abigail Dehmey to the Ladson Family!!

Ms. Dehmey moved to Charleston from Pennsylvania two years ago after graduating from Penn State University. She is excited to join Ladson Elementary as a Multilingual (ML) teacher. Ms. Dehmey holds a degree in K–12 ESOL as well as a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction. For the past two years, she has been teaching ML students at Stall High School’s Newcomer Center, where she also currently serves as the Girls Varsity Soccer Coach.

After school, Ms. Dehmey enjoys reading and attending Spanish classes. She is passionate about supporting multilingual learners and is excited to meet her students and help them grow in confidence and strength in their English skills. She looks forward to being part of the Ladson community!

I am incredibly excited to be joining the team and to support the students and families of Ladson Elementary this year.

I have lived and taught in FOUR states over the past 6 years. Though we have had a lot of movement for my husband’s job in recent years, we are hopeful and excited to call Charleston the place where we will raise our family. I am passionate about advocating for what is best for students and look forward to continuing that work at Ladson Elementary this school year!

My name is Krystal Turner, and I am so excited to join the team as a first-grade teacher this school year. I have 10 years of experience in education and love creating a classroom where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn each day. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, traveling, and going for walks, and I have a Yorkie named Skye who keeps life fun. Hello! My name is Ms. Benz, and I am thrilled to start at Ladson in August. This will be my fifth year teaching, and before Charleston, I taught special education in Chicago Public Schools. I grew up in upstate New York (go Bills!), and enjoy spending time traveling, reading, hanging out with family/friends, and being outside. Let’s have a great year!
