Our mission is to inspire excellence & prepare students to thrive at Fort Dorchester, Ashley Ridge, & beyond. We are a neighborhood school situated in the Oakbrook area of Summerville. Our overarching goal is to prepare students to take advantage of the educational opportunities that await them at Fort Dorchester and Ashely Ridge High Schools.

📱💻 Parents & Caregivers: The internet our kids are navigating is VERY different from the one we grew up with!

From social media and online gaming to group chats, scams, cyberbullying, and trends that seem to change approximately every 12 minutes… keeping our kids safe online can feel like a full-time job. And unfortunately, simply saying “Don’t talk to strangers on the internet!” doesn’t quite cover it anymore.

That’s why we hope you’ll join us for Internet Safety: Protecting Your Kids Online on Thursday, September 24 at 6:00 PM at Oakbrook Middle School!

Our presenter, Allyson Morin, ICAC Specialist, will help parents and caregivers better understand the online risks facing kids and teens today—including social media trends, scams, and cyberbullying—and share practical strategies you can use to help keep your family safer online.

💙💛 Knowledge is one of the best tools we can give ourselves as parents. Whether your child already has a phone and social media accounts or you’re still holding strong with “you can get a phone when you’re 37,” this night is for you.

Do you have a band instrument sitting at home collecting dust? It could be exactly what an Oakbrook student needs to begin or continue their musical journey!

The Oakbrook Middle School Band is currently seeking pre-owned band instruments that families and community members are willing to donate. Instruments do not have to be brand new—we are happy to consider previously used instruments that can be cleaned, repaired, and placed into the hands of a student.

Your donated instrument could help remove a financial barrier for a family and allow a student to experience everything that being a part of the band has to offer. ❤️🎶

Today, we hosted Coffee & Treats with the Principal, and what a great morning it was! ☕🦅

We had a wonderful turnout of families who took time to stop by, meet with Dr. Guerry, ask questions, share ideas, and connect with our school community. The conversation was robust, the questions were on-point, and the energy was contagious!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to each of these families for taking time out of their busy schedules to come out and support Oakbrook Middle School. Your partnership matters, and we are grateful for the opportunity to listen, learn, and grow together.

We are looking forward to continuing the legacy of strong relationships at OMS while building new relationships that make a meaningful impact on student success.
