📚💙 A Little Library with BIG Adventures! ❤️📖

Did you know the JPES Library sponsors two Free Little Libraries for our community? 🌟 This wonderful resource helps put more books into the hands of our students and encourages reading at home!

We invite all our Explorer families to participate! Stop by and grab a book to enjoy at home, and leave a book for another reader to discover. Every book shared is another opportunity for a child to develop a love of reading and build their very own home library.

Let’s work together to share the joy of reading and keep those pages turning! 📚✨

From our ℂ𝕠𝕒𝕥𝕤 𝕠𝕗 𝕄𝕒𝕟𝕪 ℂ𝕠𝕝𝕠𝕣𝕤 and books that took us places to country tales, sparkling confidence, and future careers, our Explorers spent the week celebrating the legacy of Dolly Parton through reading, dreaming, kindness, creativity, and plenty of fun! 💖🤠⭐

We’re excited to celebrate our 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 — 𝗠𝘀. 𝗩𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘇, 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘀. 𝗢𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻, 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲! 🎉👏

This year, we’re honoring the legacy of our school’s namesake through the “𝗜 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗜𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝗲’𝘀 𝗪𝗮𝘆” 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱, recognizing Staffulty whose 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗧, 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗟𝗨𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗖𝗬 reflect the difference Mr. Joseph R. Pye believed educators could make. ❤️💙

Our yearlong celebration kicked off in an especially meaningful way as Mr. Pye’s son joined us and shared that, of all the roles his father held throughout his life, 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿. 🍎 He reminded us that no matter the capacity in which we serve, 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆, 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀.

Our 2nd grade students put their geography knowledge and creativity to work as they designed 3D models of South Carolina! 🌎

Working collaboratively, students represented the 6 geographic regions of South Carolina, including important landforms and bodies of water. They transformed their 2D maps into 3D models complete with labels, geographic features, and details unique to each region.

We loved seeing our young geographers collaborate, create, problem-solve, and bring South Carolina to life! 💙🌿

🐾📚 Meet Grace! 💙

Today we had a special meet-and-greet with Grace, our new therapy dog, and her handler, Ms. Cindy! Grace is registered through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and will be visiting our campus every other week in the library.

Mrs. Rollison is excited to bring Grace to the library and share all the joy, comfort, and smiles she’ll bring to our students and staff. 🐶❤️ We can’t wait for our students to meet her!
