📚👹 “GO AWAY, BIG GREEN MONSTER!”
After reading Go Away, Big Green Monster!, we challenged the children the next day to use the pieces to recreate the monster. What could they remember? How did he appear? And, of course, could they make him “GO AWAY!” again? 😊
Notice our teachers stepping back to give the children time to practice using glue sticks, make decisions, and put their masterpieces together independently. These hands-on experiences build memory, storytelling skills, fine motor control, and confidence. We love listening to the details they remember from the day before!
🎨 During another small group activity, we explored paint sticks! The children enjoyed discovering how they felt different from crayons and seeing the beautiful colors they could create.
Families, try asking your child, “What do you remember about the Big Green Monster?” Give them a little time to think—you may be surprised by what they share! 💚

September -Where does the time go? Sorry I got behind on posting. 💕 A little connection and a little messy play—so much learning along the way!
Try our “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” I Love You Ritual at home! Sit cross-legged facing your child, gently hold hands, and rock back and forth as you sing together. Sharing smiles and playful moments is a wonderful way to connect. 🚣‍♀️
And if you’re feeling adventurous, try making oobleck! 👐 Mix cornstarch and water, then let your child squeeze, scoop, and explore. It feels firm when squeezed but flows when hands relax! Add more cornstarch to make it thicker or a little more water to make it thinner.
These simple activities invite children to connect, experiment, and discover—all through play! 💛

🖍️✂️ Little hands at work—building big skills!
Clothespin games, coloring on boxes, drawing people, and cutting practice make learning fun! These activities help strengthen little hands and build the coordination children need for handwriting. 💛
📦 Delivery boxes are like free gifts for a child’s imagination! Before tossing one out, let your child transform it into anything they dream up using crayons, markers, or paint.
🎶 We love our Mat Man activity! We build him with flat blocks and sing as the children draw, helping them discover how body parts fit together. When drawing with your child, talk about where each part belongs: arms and legs connect to our bodies!
🚌 The children also loved cutting out pictures of their friends to put on their buses! Cutting takes time, patience, and practice. At home, offer child-safe scissors, paper, and close adult supervision to help build confidence with a skill they’ll use often in kindergarten.
Every snip, squeeze, scribble, and drawing is a step toward learning—and there’s so much joy in the process! 🌟

- September 2026 — Feeling Faces & Fruity Discoveries! 😊🐉
Our Feeling Buddies sparked more fun conversations about emotions! We loved watching the children try different facial expressions—some worked so hard to match their buddy’s feeling face! Their stories about times they’ve felt that way brought smiles and helped us learn more about one another. 💛
We also explored dragon fruit! We used our senses to look, feel, smell, and taste this unusual fruit. Some children enjoyed it and thought it tasted like kiwi! Some not so much. We even learned that dragon fruit grows on a cactus. 🌵
So many opportunities to build vocabulary, explore feelings, and try something new!
