The ribbon is cut! We are so excited to be welcoming children and families into the brand new Sara M. Allen Early Learning Center, located in the recently restored Gale School in Belmont. We celebrated with tours and an open house on Old Homes Day, and even got a special visit from Senator Shaheen, who had helped secure funding to restore the historic building for Lakes Region Community Developers. Amanda Carroll from Belmont ELC is our new Site Director and is doing an awesome job making infants and toddlers feel welcome, celebrated, and at home in their new space! Out buying school or office supplies? Please consider donating items to benefit Lakes Region kids' programs during the Tools for School drive from Aug 1st to Aug 28th! Supplies will go to our children's programs at BELC, LELC, River's Edge, the new Sara M. Allen center at the Gale School, Lakes Clubhouse, and the B&GC Clubs at Holderness and Belmont schools. Donations can be dropped off with our friends at Juggernaut Fitness , Northwoods Landscape Services LLC , Above & Below HVAC LLC , or with LELC at 22 Strafford St in Laconia. *Please note that these items will be used in our programs, while the Pack-a-Pack drive earlier this month benefited individual kids in need of backpacks, snacks, and school supplies for the upcoming school year.*

Lakes region Boys & Girls Club members had a blast last Wednesday on the kid-friendly version of the Christmas in July Cruise! Kids enjoyed free face painting, games, ice cream, live music and sing-alongs, and a guest appearance from Santa Clause (Boys & Girls Club's infamous St Nick doppelganger, bus driver Mike Grandmont).
