Yesterday the Wilson Elementry School Project in West Contra Costa School District was on ABC news. There is a move by the local community to change the name of the school to Michelle Obama Elementary School. This school will be one of the most advanced school designs that iep2 has had the privilege to be engaged in, from the beginning. It genuinely represents a design that is supportive of the teachers in the delivery of 21st-century education, student-centered, and community-friendly.

MICHELLE OMAMA-INSPIRED: "We just thought that name would resonate in our community and really push forward this notion that no matter where you came from, no matter your circumstance- you can do it."

Fun little blog which highlights things that can be done even between major facilities projects. There is no need to wait to evaluate on how space is being used or the "feeling" spaces project. It a new year and a great time to look at your school as a first-time parent/student and think does this match our mission? Are there places that could be used more if we think of them differently?
