We couldn't be more proud of Daniel Ferguson and his first place finish!

Last week, Daniel competed in the Welder division at the 2024 UA District 5 Regional Apprentice Competition hosted by Local 44 in Spokane. The regional competition consists of state champions from the 11 western states and tests their skill, mettle, and determination over a grueling 2-day competition. There are only 6 Districts in the entire United Association and this is a major achievement.

Also, congratulations to all the competitors representing Washington State! In the five categories (HVAC/R, Plumber, Steamfitter, Welder, & Sprinkler Fitter), every Washington State representative took 2nd place or better with 3 competitors winning and moving on to nationals. UA Apprenticeship in Washington State has never looked brighter!

Daniel will now compete in the 2024 UA International Apprentice Contest held in Ann Arbor, Michigan August 10th-15th. We are all rooting for you Daniel!

At last week's Union Meeting we passed the hat for Brother Jacob Walters. If you were unable to attend the meeting or would love to help out our Union Brother we know it would be hugely appreciated. Check out his GoFundMe link below about his unexpected stroke, at 32 years old! His Brother, fellow Brother Jerry Walters created the site for Jake & his wife.

Yes! It is that time of the year again! Apprentice Graduation in Lacey is June 22nd! All members and their families are encouraged to attend and support our graduates.

Words cannot describe how proud we are of Frank Near and Austin Barry who recently competed in the 2023 District 5 Regional Apprentice Competition. They exemplify what it takes to represent our state and local at the highest level for their respective trades. The regional competition consists of state champions from the 11 western states and tests their skill, mettle, and determination over a grueling 2-day competition.

We are thrilled to announce both competitors medaled with Frank taking 3rd place in the welder competition and Austin taking 1st place in the pipefitter competition.

Austin will now compete against every district champion in the 2023 UA International Apprentice Contest held in Ann Arbor, Michigan August 12-18th. We are all rooting for you Austin!

We had a very successful graduation ceremony and barbecue on the 20th! Thank you so much to the many people in attendance. We hope everyone had a great time!
