Last Thursday students read Rainbow Fish. This is a story about sharing and friendship. At the art table, students used fun dauber markers to decorate their own fish. They used a down and up motion to make the circle dots for the scales. To finish off their rainbow fish, students glued on one glittery gem to represent the shiny special scale.

Today in class our students continued working with the letter R. We learned how to write capital and lowercase R’s. Next at the art table we traced another capital R. Then they used pokey rings as paintbrushes to decorate those R’s. Students tried creating patterns and noticed that yellow and red paint mix together to become orange.

Our T/Th students are exploring rectangles this week. We learned the sign language for rectangle and noticed that rectangles have two equal long sides and two equal short sides. We used many rectangles to create cows at art! This was a big multi step project that required students to focus on their cutting and placement skills. Check out the herd in our hallway!
