Our Eagles are getting involved!

At our annual Club & Co-Curricular Fair, students had the chance to explore the many ways they can connect, create, compete, and discover new interests beyond the classroom.

From Robotics and DECA to photography, baking, art, drama, puzzles, and more, there was something for everyone! The fair gave students an opportunity to meet fellow Eagles with shared interests, learn about different activities, and sign up for the ones that sparked their curiosity.

We can’t wait to see where their interests take them this year!

Service in Action is underway at JPII!

Our Service in Action: School Mission class gives students the opportunity to put their faith into action through meaningful, hands-on service with local Catholic schools and nonprofit organizations. Rooted in Catholic social teaching, students explore what it means to serve with compassion and humility while recognizing the dignity of every person.

One of their first projects of the year is already taking root! Students have begun a garden that will grow fresh food to help serve marginalized members of our local community.

A little extra company on the course this week! Fr. Simon Stehr of Saint Michael Parish joined our cross country team for a run, along with one of our awesome JPII alumni, Brendan Perez ‘20!

We love seeing members of our extended Eagle community lace up and spend time with our student-athletes. Thanks for joining us, Fr. Simon and Brendan!

What a beautiful way to begin the 2026–27 school year!

Yesterday, our JPII community gathered for our first Mass on campus of the new school year. We are grateful to Fr. Bryan Ochs, Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lacey, and Fr. William Dodoma, Parochial Vicar, for joining us and presiding over our celebration.

The Mass was offered for the repose of the soul of Maris Grobins, beloved husband of JPII Board Member Mary Alice Grobins. We were grateful to come together as a community in prayer for Maris and the Grobins family.

There was such a peaceful spirit throughout the Mass, and we were especially proud of the respect and reverence shown by our students. It was a beautiful reminder of what it means to gather as a school community, centered in Christ and united in faith.

Before the first bell of the new school year, our newest Eagles had a chance to get to know JPII—and each other—at New Student Orientation!

Our ASB team led the experience, helping new students explore campus, make connections, ask questions, and get a feel for life at JPII. Best of all, we loved hearing from our new students about how much they enjoyed the day!

A huge thank you to our ASB students for creating such a fun and welcoming experience.

Last Thursday, our campus was full of Eagle spirit as students, families, faculty, staff, and friends gathered for our annual Back-to-the-Eagle’s Nest BBQ!

The evening was made even more special as we celebrated our 2025–26 State Champions—Boys Cross Country and Girls Track & Field—with gifts and special recognition. We were also proud to honor WSCCCA Hall of Fame Coach Larry Weber, who led both teams to their state victories. What a year for JPII Running!

We were also blessed by the presence of Fr. Martin Bourke of Sacred Heart and Fr. Simon Stehr of Saint Michael Parish. We are grateful for the time they spent visiting and engaging with our students and families and for their continued presence in the JPII community.

A tremendous thank you to Annfany Cortes, Heather Kapust, our Parent & Guardian Association, our family cooks, the Marapao family, and everyone who gave their time and talents to make the evening possible.

It was the perfect way to begin a new school year and a wonderful reminder of what makes JPII so special: the people. 💙💛🦅

We’re excited to formally welcome Mrs. Liz Seese to the JPII team as our new Student Support Specialist!

Mrs. Seese earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Saint Martin's University and is a Certified Victim Advocate through the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP). She already knows the Eagle community well, having spent the past two years interning at JPII.

For Mrs. Seese, supporting students goes hand in hand with the mission of JPII:

“As a social worker, I support students in becoming intellectually strong and spiritually grounded by addressing barriers to their well-being and success. I also encourage empathy, resilience, and a commitment to serving others within the school community.”

We’re grateful to officially welcome Mrs. Seese to the JPII staff and excited for the care, knowledge, and support she will bring to our students and families.

Please join us in giving her a warm Eagle welcome! 🦅💙💛
