Komachin Middle School students presented a skit about healthy eating as part of their HOSA Public Health event to Lakes kindergartners, 1st graders, and 2nd graders! They used a Mario theme to help explain how to make healthier choices. Next step will be to present at the International Leadership Conference in Indianapolis June 18th! It’s always a treat to see Lakes alumni being successful after they leave! Way to go!

It is National Speech and Hearing month, and we happen to have THE BEST Speech and Language Pathologist in the world!
Ms. Erin goes above and beyond to support our leopards who are working on their speech and language. She incorporates the best activities in her service and is often the highlight of the week for her students!
Thank you, Erin, for all that you do! ❤️

In Social Studies, 2nd graders have been learning about how modifications to land can effect the environment and animal habitats. Mrs. Bonvouloir’s class was visited by Mr Brian, an urban forester, from the City of Tumwater, who shared about all the great benefits trees provide to communities, such as temperature regulation, clean air, and shade! Students even got a chainsaw (no chain!) demonstration at the end of the lesson!
