This June for Pride we're having a Q***r Activities Night at Lacey MakerSpace

Wednesday June 17th 6pm-9:30pm!

⚙️🌈 This event is for LGBTQ+ community to drop into the facility afterhours for woodworking demos, metal bending, hand embroidery hacks, sewing machine demos, patch printing, diy stickers, Magic the Gathering, bike repair, a q***r car show and TOURS.

It’s a drop in event, with no strict timelines for any particular activity. Q***r community is welcome to come see the space, get a tour, experience the thrill of the maker community and envision the possibilities! This amazing night is hosted by q***r LMS volunteers & staff with participation by .

LMS is a family friendly, substance free, wheelchair accessible space. No pets please.

🧹 What a week at Lacey MakerSpace!

Last week we held our annual member meetup and spring cleanup, and wow, did our members show up!

We were able to tackle cleaning and tasks that had been on the list for a while, and it would not have happened without every single person who rolled up their sleeves and got to work. The camaraderie in this space is something truly special, and moments like this remind us just how lucky we are to have the community we have.

After the cleanup we gathered for our member meeting where we talked about our upcoming fundraiser, reviewed policies, and held an open Q&A session. Great conversations, great energy all around.

To every member who showed up, thank you. You are what makes Lacey MakerSpace more than just a workspace. You make it a home.

🔥 Spots are going fast! Our MIG Welding Basics class is happening Tuesday, June 10th at 5:30 PM and there's still room for you.
This hands-on, 3-hour evening class is taught by Daniel Schepers of , a certified welder and fabricator with over ten years of experience. His veteran family-owned business is W.A.B.O certified, and he brings serious expertise into a beginner-friendly environment.
You'll learn to safely operate a MIG welder, master basic techniques for joints, grinding, and finishing, and walk away with your own welded steel creation. Choose your take-home project from: 🚀 rocket stove | 🏮 lantern | 🥣 geometric bowl | 🍷 wine rack | 🎲 dice
All materials included for your project. LMS members: completing this class satisfies the proficiency requirement for independent welder use!

📌 A few things to know before you come:

Closed-toe shoes and pants required (jeans or cotton preferred, no synthetics)
Ages 12+ welcome; under 18 must have a guardian present

Our Vinyl Decals with Silhouette class walks you through the whole process from start to finish, no experience needed.

In just 2 hours you'll learn how to prep your design file, set up your cut, load vinyl onto the mat, dial in your settings, w**d the excess, and apply transfer tape. You'll leave with 2 finished decals ready to stick anywhere.

All supplies are included. Class size is limited to just 6 participants so everyone gets hands-on, personalized guidance.

A few things to know before you sign up:
👉 The class uses Silhouette software, one of the most popular design and cutting tools in the maker world
👉 SVG or JPG files work best
👉 This is a single-color decal class, so come with a black and white or single-color image or logo in mind
