WatchDOG Volunteer Meeting on September 10 at 5:30 PM!
Do you have a great role model in your life? Would they be interested in volunteering at PVH? WATCH D.O.G.S (Dads Of Great Students) is a family and community engagement educational initiative. There are two primary goals of the WATCH D.O.G.S. program. 1) To provide positive role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important. 2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying. If you are a role model to a Parkview Heights student(s), and you are interested in volunteering as part of the WatchDOG program, please fill out the following form:

🐾 Panther of the Month 🐾

Each month, our Panthers will focus on a special Word of the Month that connects to our PAWS expectations: Practice Safety, Act Responsibly, We Are Kind, and Show Respect. Teachers will recognize one student from each classroom who consistently demonstrates that month's trait as our Panther of the Month! 💙💛

Throughout the month, students will learn what the trait looks and sounds like and be challenged to put it into action throughout our school. We can't wait to celebrate our Panthers who are leading by example! 🐾🌟

Positive Office Referrals:

Positive Office Referrals are earned by students for going above and beyond throughout the school day. There is a change with how these will be rewarded this year and the frequency of these awards. Administration will walk around to each classroom on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. Each classroom will award ONE positive office referral (one student). Administration will read the positive office referral aloud to the class. The student will then receive a prize from the prize cart and take their picture for our bulletin board. Students will take home their certificate with their teacher's note about how they earned this recognition. We are excited to see these recognitions and see the impact it will have on each classroom's community of learners.
Stay tuned in the coming days for additional Positive Behavior Recognitions!

School-Wide Positive Reinforcement
At Parkview Heights, all classrooms use individual student punch cards. Students can earn a punch for following any of our 4 school rules: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Kind. All staff members can give students individual praise and specific feedback when providing a punch for their punch card. You might hear your student say that they earned a 'ticket'. All staff members that are not a classroom teacher (exa. paraprofessionals, specialists, administration, etc.) can give a student a 'ticket' and when the student returns that to their classroom it correlates to a punch on their punch card. Throughout the week and month, completed punch cards are used to earn classroom rewards. Teachers will communicate home monthly about how many punch cards your student earned that month. Ask your student about their punch card today!

🎨✏️ Preschool Fun in Mrs. Weber’s Class! 🖍️💙
Mrs. Weber’s preschoolers have been having a wonderful start to the school year! They’ve been working hard learning all about classroom routines—including how to correctly use important school supplies like crayons and glue. 🖍️🧴
The students even learned that if we don’t use our supplies the right way, they just might go on strike! 😱😂
And we definitely wouldn’t want our crayons and glue to go on strike! So we’re practicing, learning, and taking great care of our classroom supplies. 💪📚✨
We’re off to a fantastic start! 🌟🍎
