La Vernia Intermediate PTO

PTO surprised our teachers for World Teachers’ Day by rolling our Dirty Soda cart door-to-door so they could enjoy a sweet treat without even leaving their classrooms! 🥤💙

Teachers could choose from our special drink menu or create their own combo with different sodas, syrups, cream, and cherries!

The “Teacher’s Pet” was by far the favorite Dirty Soda of the day: Dr Pepper + vanilla syrup + cold foam + Maraschino cherry! 🍒

Thank you to all of the teachers who “pour” so much into our Bears every single day! 💙🐻

🐻💙 THIS WEEK AT LV INTERMEDIATE!

🍎 MONDAY IS WORLD TEACHERS' DAY! Families, let's show our teachers some love, too! Take a moment to send a quick thank-you email, write a little note, or have your child tell their teacher what makes them special. It doesn't have to cost a thing! Sometimes, simply hearing how much they're appreciated means more than you know. ❤️

📣 TUESDAY IS OUR PTO MEETING! Join us at 8:15 AM in the cafeteria! We'll be discussing recent PTO board changes, electing our new Secretary, and making important decisions about how our APEX fundraising proceeds will support our goals for the school. This is your PTO, and your voice and vote matter! We'd love to see you there!

🚒 It's also NATIONAL FIRE PREVENTION WEEK! This year's official theme is "Charge Into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower." It focuses on preventing fires caused by rechargeable batteries in phones, tablets, laptops and other devices. Take a few minutes as a family to practice safe charging habits. Keep phones, tablets, and other devices off beds and away from anything flammable. It's also a great time to check your smoke alarms and review your family's fire escape plan!

Have a great week, Bears! 💙🐻

Please note: This calendar highlights select events and may not include all school activities.

Help us show Mrs. Freeman some love! Leave her a message of appreciation in the comments!

Our #1 APEX fundraiser got to trade in his student duties for a day in the principal’s office!
Thank you for going above and beyond to support our school! We hope you enjoyed being the boss for the day!

👔✨ PRINCIPAL FOR THE DAY! ✨👔
We had a very special guest take over the principal’s office today! 🐻💙

Our Principal for the Day got to experience what it’s like to be in charge of La Vernia Intermediate—from helping with morning announcements and visiting classrooms to making some important “principal” decisions! 😎📚

We loved having our student leader join us for the day and hope they had as much fun as we did!

Thank you for helping us keep the Bears growing, learning, and grooving together! 🕺💙🤍

📚 THE LV INTERMEDIATE BOOK FAIR IS OFFICIALLY OPEN FOR BUSINESS! 🎉

🔗 SHOP ONLINE, SET UP AN eWALLET & FIND BOOK FAIR INFO:
https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/laverniaintermediateschool

Here are a few things to know to make Book Fair week go smoothly:

💳 SET UP AN eWALLET
No cash? No problem! Scholastic eWallet is an easy way to give your child money to shop without sending cash to school. Family and friends can even contribute to their eWallet!

🧾 DON’T FORGET SALES TAX!
Remember to leave a little extra in your child’s budget for sales tax. Kids sometimes get to the register with exactly enough for the sticker price and realize they’re a little short once tax is added.

📘 CREATE A WISHLIST
Who doesn’t remember circling everything they wanted in the Scholastic Book Fair flyer as a kid? Take a look at the Book Fair together beforehand and let your child make a wishlist! The Fair can get busy and hectic, so having an idea of what they’re looking for helps shopping go much more smoothly.

📚 TEACHERS’ WISHLIST BASKET
Want to purchase a book for your child’s teacher? Look for the Teachers’ Wishlist basket at the Fair! You can purchase a book chosen by your child’s teacher to help add to their classroom library. We’ll add a sticker showing who the book was purchased by.

💛 SHARE THE FAIR
Help make sure every student gets the opportunity to experience the joy of choosing a book! Look for the Share the Fair option online to contribute toward helping students who may need a little extra assistance purchasing a book.

🕐 BOOK FAIR HOURS
Open 8AM–7 PM (Friday will close @ 5pm). Be sure to check your child’s class shopping schedule so you know when they’ll be visiting the Fair. Families are welcome to come shop after school!

💰 SET SPENDING RULES
Talk with your child beforehand about non-book items like posters, pens, journals, and other fun extras so they know what they’re allowed to purchase.

📚🐻 Happy Book Fair Week, Bears!

09/27/2026
