Last night, our Water Polo team was honored by the La Verne City Council for their amazing season, which culminated in a CIF-SS Div. 3 championship.

It was an incredible honor for our Spartans to be recognized by the city for their hard work and success this past season.

Damien Debate has tied the school’s all-time best performance in a single season!

Four teams have fully qualified for the Tournament of Champions in Lexington, Kentucky. This is the first time four separate teams have qualified for the TOC since 2008.

Stephen Lewis, Adam Mimou, Will Agustin, and Roan Murphy will be joined by juniors Joseph Hong and Luke Park. Additionally, Josh Li and Teddy Wachtler are the first all-sophomore team in school history to qualify!

Congratulations to these eight Spartans on the hard work and dedication they have poured into debate!

This past weekend, over 30 students from our Debate program participated in community fellowship with the men living at Mary's Village in San Bernardino.

Our students prepared meals, distributed food and drinks, and presented donated gifts to those living in the village. Together, the residents and students also played different games, including a fantastic game of basketball!

We are incredibly grateful to Terry Kent and Mary's Mercy Center for organizing the opportunity for our Spartans to join in providing aid to our community at the village.

The Spartan Regiment invites you to enjoy a Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 15th in the Event Center.

The concert will feature performances from the Regiment, Beginning Band, Music Appreciation, Guitar, Color Guard, Concert Band and Jazz Band. Presale tickets are available to students for $5 and adults for $10. Tickets are available for purchase at the door.

This event has become a pillar in our Tri-School Community to gather for prayer, music and festive celebrations.

Congratulations to the Damien Spartan Regiment for performing at the Hollywood Christmas Parade last weekend! The DSR were afforded the chance to represent the Los Angeles Catholic Schools Band in the parade.

It was an incredible opportunity to close out a stellar season, which saw the DSR win 1st Place at seven different tournaments and claim the CSBC Division 2A Championship.

We are proud of the work and dedication these students have shown to showcase their musical talents while being an outstanding representation of the Damien and Tri-School community.

This week, our school placed an increased focus on gratitude as we approach Thanksgiving. With activities set up by our counseling department, our students and faculty were able to focus on the healthy, positive aspects of our lives.

Our school wrote what they were thankful for on tags that were hung on the Gratitude Tree, which was displayed outside of the chapel all week. In addition, students wrote gratitude letters to their teachers and modeled gratitude by sharing churros they purchased on Wednesday with a friend.

We hope these activities help our student and faculty reflect upon and be grateful for the most important aspects of their lives during the coming Thanksgiving break.

The team of Nathan Gadia, Micah Hwang, Chris Kim, Dohyun Kim, and Kyle Krueger not only secured the top spot, but also took home the Build Award, which is given to a team with a well-crafted, constructed robot.

This past weekend, three of our Robotics teams competed in the first tournament of the season, with one team earning the coveted Design Award!

This award is presented to the team that demonstrates an organized and professional approach to the design process, project and time management, and team organization.

This is an incredible achievement for this team of juniors featuring Ryder Strolie, Simon Vo, Andrew Nava, Carl Simpson, Austen Straite, and Nathan Avitia.

This award most likely earns them a spot at this year’s State Championships when the field is finalized next month.

Congratulations Robotics on a stellar start to the season!

This weekend, our Debate Program achieved an incredible milestone as Senior Stephen Lewis and Junior Will Agustin successfully qualified for the Tournament of Champions!

This marks the earliest a Damien team has fully qualified for the national championship in a decade. The team will compete in Lexington, Kentucky in April.

The team of Juniors Mark Martinez and Luke Park also had a fantastic tournament, as they finished 21st out of 80+ competitors.

Our Debate program has had a stellar August, as they have received two separate accolades that demonstrate their tireless commitment to their craft.

First, our program was recognized for the incredible tournament held on campus last year. Additionally, two debaters will head off to one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country later this month!
