Stressing about the CBEST? Well, look no further, the ASC prep sessions equip you with tools to eradicate stress and get the BEST score you want 😎🤝

April 4th, Reading/Writing: Jump into analyzing a piece critically and forming your own opinion about the content and the structure of the text, and learn how to evaluate and assess the readings through the tone and textual structure of the section to show your best on the CBEST.

April 7th, Math: Brush up on Order of Operations, long division, percentages, and number lines to put your best foot forward for the CBEST.

GUEST SPEAKER: Diana Castillo ( )

We welcome Diana to our Internship, Journalism/Radio/TV 497, ACB 212 classroom Monday, March 21, at 5:15 p.m. Diana will be joining us by Zoom right after anchoring the news. You are invited to join us, either in the classroom, where Diana will be projected on the large screen, or via Zoom in the place of your choice.

Diana will address the following:
• Her dual role as both a news director and weekly anchor for Sinclair Broadcasting Group.
• Her career path to Sinclair. (How she gained multiple jobs in broadcast journalism)
• Her tips on how students can win scholarships to pay for their education.

Diana Castillo, University of La Verne broadcast journalism alumna, is the news director and 5 p.m. news anchor at Siouxland News (Sinclair Broadcast Group), CBS 14/Fox 44. Her news team recently won an Emmy Award for Best Evening Newscast.

Before joining the Siouxland News team, Diana was the news director/anchor for Laredo Fox News and Univision Laredo in Laredo, Texas. Before Laredo, she worked for Univision KORO 28 in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she was the anchor and executive producer. Previously, she was the anchor/producer for Southern California Life Morning News. Diana grew up in Upland, California.
