Back-to-School Night at La Verkin Elementary is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to welcome our Cubs and their families back for an amazing school year!

Please join us in welcoming our new Computer Lab Para, Mrs. MeQuette White.

My name is MeQuette White. I have a wonderful family with my husband. We have 4 kids, 6 horses, a dog, and some goats. I grew up in northern Utah and graduated from Utah State University. We moved to La Verkin 11 years ago. My 2 sons are La Verkin Cubs and I have been apart of LVES PTO for 5 years so I look forward to being part of the faculty at the school! A few fun things to know about me are that I love being among the desert rocks or in the Uinta mountains with the trees. I love trail riding with my family on horseback. I enjoy creating using stained glass, leather, wood, painting or sketching. I love chocolate and baking desserts. I look forward to seeing all of your kids in the computer lab!

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Joseph Runs Through. He will be joining our school as a 5th grade teacher.

Hi! My name is Joseph Runs Through. I'm Assiniboine from the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of Montana. While I was born in Montana, I was raised in St. George, where I lived until 2015. Since then, I have lived in Provo, Utah and Vernal, Utah. I am so excited to be returning to Washington County and to be joining the La Verkin Elementary community as a 5th grade teacher!

Most of my 8 years of teaching experience has been in the 6th grade, both in elementary schools as well as middle schools. I spent the past 3 years teaching 6th grade math at Uintah Middle School in Vernal. Though I really enjoyed that position, I'm looking forward to returning to an elementary classroom.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy running, birdwatching, photography, video games, reading, writing, and so much more. I can't wait to meet you!

Join us in welcoming our new Life Skills teacher, Mrs. April Albach.

Hey all! I’m April Albach. I’m a wife, a mother to 2 girls, and I’ve been teaching in Special Education for 8 years. I have taught students from pre-k to 5th grade across three states. I grew up in eastern North Carolina, attended college in Virginia at Old Dominion University, and began my teaching career in southern California. My family and I are so excited to call southern Utah “home”. We enjoy being outside, being out on the water, hiking trails, and enjoying the off-road life. I enjoying reading, photography, cooking and being outside in my free time. I am so excited to be starting my 9th year with such a wonderful team and community at La Verkin Elementary.

Join us in welcoming our new Learning Coach, Mrs. Chelsie Merrill!

Hello! My name is Chelsie Merrill and I’m excited to be the Learning Coach at LaVerkin Elementary this year.

Southern Utah has been home for the past 20 years. When I'm not in the classroom, you'll find me spending time with my husband, our five amazing kids, their wonderful spouses, and my adorable grandkids. Family time is my favorite! We love skiing in the winter, camping in the summer, relaxing at the beach, and exploring new places whenever we can.
I graduated from UNLV with a Bachelor's degree in Education and began my teaching journey in 2006. I later earned my Master's degree in Education from SUU and have endorsements in Early Childhood, ESL, and Reading. I have had the privilege of teaching first, third and fourth grade. I am passionate about creating a classroom where every student feels supported, encouraged, and excited to learn. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching students grow in confidence, discover new things, and develop a genuine love of learning.
I'm so excited to be a LaVerkin Cub and work alongside such an amazing group of educators and staff. I'm also thrilled to be part of this wonderful community and can't wait to get to know all of the students and families.
