Huge congratulations to our students at the ACC (Area Career Center). Today, 11 high school students TESTED and PASSED their FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot exam. ✅

They started at the beginning of the year with little to no drone knowledge, and now they’ve earned a credential that roughly 400,000 out of 341.7 million people in the United States have, about 0.12% of the population. 📈

What makes this even more impressive is everything they balanced along the way: school, work, sports, family responsibilities, and still showing up ready to learn and put in the effort. 🏫💼⚽️

We are incredibly proud of their discipline, growth, and commitment. This is a major accomplishment and a big step toward future opportunities in aviation, technology, and beyond. 🚁

ACC students visited the Carpenters/Millwork Apprentice School located in Moline Illinois on Feb. 26.
Our Apprentice Training Program combines hands-on classroom education by qualified instructors with on-the-job training. This “earn while you learn” approach gives you the opportunity to earn a good living while developing highly marketable skills for life. We have numerous specialized carpenter training programs that are right for you including:

What is an Apprentice?
An apprentice is someone who is learning a trade by working under the guidance of skilled journeymen. It’s on-the-job training. You earn while you learn and are paid a wage from the first day you’re hired by a contractor. Apprentices usually start at about 40 percent of the skilled journeyman’s rate of pay. Apprentice wages are increased at periodic intervals until their wages are up to 80 percent of the journeyman’s rate-usually the last year of training.

Meet Mrs. Catherine Lambert who completes the Health Occupations trio of Mrs. Jamie O'Flanagan and Mrs. Lynne Pohar. Mrs. Lambert assists the Health Occupations teachers during class time and also works as a clinical supervisor at the local hospital and nursing home.

Meet Mrs. Jamie O'Flanagan who is the Health Occupations Medical Terminology teacher. Students in the Medical Terminology class receive Dual Credit from IVCC. Mrs. O'Flanagan not only teaches Medical Terminology she also supervises the clinical work done at the local hospital and nursing home.
