Olivia Yatooma (B.A. ’24) has been a star from the beginning, and she continues to make us proud!

Olivia recently joined Cleveland 19 News as a reporter, bringing her deep passion for storytelling and advocacy to Northeast Ohio. A fellow Biola alumna shared: “Olivia was always a powerhouse student. I am not surprised to see her climbing.”

Olivia truly embodies what it means to lead with heart and purpose while investigating local community stories and giving a voice to the unheard. Join us in congratulating Olivia on her new role!

We are excited to celebrate alumnus John Paget (B.A. ’92) as he releases his latest feature-length documentary, Route 66: The Main Street of America!

John Paget is an award winning filmmaker who has spent 30 years capturing stories along the Mother Road. His new film was officially selected by the U.S. Route 66 Centennial Commission for the highway's national 100th anniversary commemoration. Spanning 2,400 miles across eight states, the documentary uncovers inspiring stories of resilience, reinvention and community.

Pay it forward to the next generation of Biolans!

Buying textbooks at the start of a new semester is seldom easy. For many current students, those costs add up fast. That’s why we're excited to promote the Biola Lending Library!

Located in Sutherland Hall, this student resource holds over 1,000 donated textbooks, providing course materials to students in need at zero cost.

Honestly, you probably have some slightly used textbooks on your shelf. You can make an immediate impact by paying it forward!

This is how you can contribute to the Lending Library:

Donate: Drop off your textbooks in the donation box at the Advising Center front desk in Sutherland Hall.

Snap & Share: Take a quick photo when you drop off your books and send it to us via direct message! We’d like to feature your donation on our page and highlight how our alumni continue to help Biolans thrive.

This past Friday, Biola welcomed new students to campus! Our alumni engagement team showed up in a cool way with our alumni in tow to help welcome the new students to campus.

We had many of you helping to direct families to where they needed to be and answering questions. Some of you helped with different activities, and as you can see in the photo, alumni made an alumni tunnel heading toward Metzger Lawn before the communion service.

This was significant in that it was meant to show these freshmen and their families that our alumni are still connected to the university and they are here for the students.

Thank you so much to all of you who volunteered your time to make this special! We hope to see more of you for more events soon!

Attention nursing alumni: It is that time of year again when Anne Gewe is looking for volunteers to "adopt" a first-semester clinical nursing student!

Adopt a Student Initiative

The goal is simple: Nursing school is challenging, and we want to encourage our students, especially during their first semester.

The commitment involves:

Praying for a Biola nursing student weekly.

Emailing the student once a month to offer encouragement and let them know you are praying for their success.

Students are in their first semester. Anne lets students take the initiative in communication. Some relationships consist of brief email updates, while others grow into deeper conversations about family, career goals, and prayer requests. While mentors and students may never meet in person, alumni often answer vocational questions or offer helpful contacts. Some connections last beyond the first semester, while others wrap up after term ends. Both outcomes are wonderful!
