Coach Burger has been named Teacher of the Year by the Brigadier General Robert Cardenas Chapter of the Air & Space Forces Association—and we couldn’t be more proud!

As our PE teacher, Coach Burger brings something truly special to campus. He goes beyond the game by incorporating STEM into physical education, helping students explore movement through data, teamwork challenges, and real-world problem-solving. It’s hands-on learning at its best—keeping minds and bodies active!

Just as importantly, he consistently emphasizes the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and character, helping students grow both on and off the field.

Even more exciting—he’s also been recognized at the state level, with national recognition on the horizon!

Mt. Helix Academy Open House – February 7

Families are invited to join Mt. Helix Academy for our upcoming Open House on Saturday, February 7, with campus tours offered at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Located in the heart of La Mesa, Mt. Helix Academy is an independent school serving students from TK through 8th grade, known for its strong academics, close-knit community, and emphasis on character development, leadership, and whole-child education.

During the Open House, prospective families will have the opportunity to tour our campus, visit classrooms, meet administrators, and learn more about our academic programs, enrichment opportunities, and supportive school culture.

Hello, MHA Familes! We are so excited for our upcoming Fall Feast, taking place next Thursday, 11/20! The Fall Feast is a fun tradition at MHA that allows teachers, students, and their families to gather and share a meal together. We hope you will be able to attend!

We’re thrilled to announce that The Institute for Effective Education (TIEE), our parent organization, has officially purchased the La Mesa Village Station property — the very campus we call home!

This incredible step secures the future of Mt. Helix Academy, ensuring our school remains a stable, welcoming place for students and families for years to come. With rising rental costs and development pressures, this purchase comes at just the right time — allowing us to continue growing and thriving together as a community.
