Emergency at the Pond Science Institute!

For years now we have known we need to replace the shingles on our roof. We have not been able to raise the $75,000 estimate from a professional roofing outfit. OK, we can’t do it all at once but we can patch the worst of the leaking shingles.

The condition of one portion of the roof is now so degraded that water has gotten in and collapsed a portion of our ceiling. More ceiling is threatening to collapse.

More rain is forecast for November 4. We probably cannot make that date but we have to do something as soon as possible.

We can patch a portion of the roof with a one year guarantee temporary roofing tarp. These tarps are easy to install. One tarp covers a 10’ X 10’ area. To cover the entire NW corner where the leaks are most severe with 12 of these tarps for a cost of $1,080 plus whatever a professional roofer will charge for installing them - maybe another $1,000 for his and his helper’s services.
