Agriculture is full of science, technology, engineering, and math. 4-H, too, has a focus on STEM. When you talk to a farmer often they will tell you they are an alumnus of the 4-H program.

Happy National FFA Week!!!
We are so thankful for the instructors and sponsors who make FFA (Future Farmers of America) possible in schools today! These men and women are helping build up the young Ag minds of America in so many crucial ways. This picture was from the FFA LDE Contests held at the college last month. Our college Ag kids loved having these high school students here so eager and ready to represent their chapters.
Over half of our American Otero Ag students came straight from high school FFA programs and all of them have nothing but great things to say about their experience. So thank a farmer or farm kid this week 🌾👩🌾👨🌾

In honor of Canadian Ag Day being this week, we would like to shout out our Canadians in the Otero Ag program! 🇨🇦
Today we have Peri Phillips from Waskatenau, Alberta, CAN.
“I come from a 6th generation farm where my family raises purebred Charolais cattle and seeds almost 7000 acres of mixed cereals and canola. My brother Kord and I have grown up in this operation our whole lives, and although it comes with good and bad days, when it’s all said and done we love the lifestyle!”
Every year Peri’s family operation (Kay-r Charolais) has a huge bull sale on their farm, and this year it is on February 25th. So head on over and check it out at the link below!
