📣 Jimmy Carter Families, we have two very important reminders:

Now that we are settled into our routines, please review two district expectations with your student. Both are in place to protect instructional time.

⏰ TARDIES
Students are expected to be in class on time every day. Tardies are addressed step by step within each six-week grading period, up to in-school suspension if they continue.
• After 8:45 a.m., students may not bring in outside food or drinks
• Student drivers may lose parking permit privileges based on tardies
• Bus riders are not affected

📵 CELL PHONES (HB1481)
Phones, smart watches, AirPods, and earbuds must stay in the secured pouch all day. If a device can be seen or is being used, it is a violation. Confiscated devices are returned to a parent only.

Now that we are settled into our routines, please review two district expectations with your student. Both are in place to protect instructional time.

⏰ TARDIES

Students are expected to be in class on time every day. Tardies are addressed step by step within each six-week grading period, up to in-school suspension if they continue.

• After 8:45 a.m., students may not bring in outside food or drinks

Ahora que ya estamos establecidos en nuestras rutinas, les pedimos que repasen con su estudiante dos expectativas del distrito. Las dos existen para proteger el tiempo de instrucción.

⏰ TARDANZAS

Se espera que los estudiantes lleguen a clase a tiempo todos los días. Los que llegan tarde a clase se atienden paso a paso dentro de cada periodo de calificaciones de seis semanas, hasta llegar a la suspensión dentro de la escuela si continúan.

• Después de las 8:45 a.m., los estudiantes no podrán entrar con comida o bebidas de afuera

• Los estudiantes que manejan pueden perder el privilegio del permiso de estacionamiento según sus retardos

• Los estudiantes que usan el autobús no se verán afectados

📵 TELÉFONOS CELULARES (HB 1481)

Los teléfonos, relojes inteligentes, AirPods y audífonos deben permanecer en la bolsa asegurada durante todo el día. Si se puede ver el aparato o se está usando, se considera una violación. Los aparatos recogidos se le entregan únicamente al padre o tutor.

There will be NO CLASSES on Monday, September 7, 2026. All La Joya ISD schools and district offices will be closed.

Classes and regular district operations will resume Tuesday, September 8. 🎒🏫
