On Wednesday, November 17th at 2:00PM PST the Strategic Studies Group will be hosting Joshua White, an associate professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Professor White will deliver a talk on India's strategic dilemmas in an age of great power competition. The presentation will be followed by audience questions and announcements of upcoming SSG events. This presentation will be held virtually on Zoom.

Hi everyone, you are invited to the Strategic Studies Group (SSG) general member meeting this Friday at 4pm! We are holding these meetings on the first Friday of every month to give new and old members an opportunity to connect and discuss relevant issues. The meeting is open to all GPS students interested in strategic and security studies. Dr. Maren Leed is the Digital Warfare Project Manager at John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where she leads technical development and analysis on the integration of modern information technology into warfighting systems and architectures. She spent over six years as a senior advisor to two military service chiefs, the Chief of Naval Operations and the Chief of Staff of the Army, and two Vice Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. From 2001-2005 she was a Professional Staff Member for the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, conducting oversight and analysis of $100+billion operation and maintenance programs of the military. She has served as a program director and project lead at two think tanks, the Center for Strategic and International Studies and the RAND Corporation, and as an adjunct professor at the Georgetown School of Foreign Service and the U.S. Naval Academy. She also served as a civil servant in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Dr. Leed earned her Ph.D. in Quantitative Policy Analysis from the RAND Graduate School and an A.B. in Political Science from Occidental College.
