Summer is almost here! đ Whether youâre Team Jeremiah, Team Conrad, or Team Belly, prepare for your Cousins Beach summer with the Womenâs Center on Monday June 2nd from 3:30 - 4:30pm for our last Gender Bite of the year! đđ Weâll be having a critical discussion of The Summer I Turned Pretty show and having a raffle for a themed tote bag. What does "untouchability" mean? Interested in learning about caste and casteism at UCSD and beyond? Join us on May 27th at 5PM for a short film screening featuring a series of interviews with UCSD students of various caste backgrounds as we discuss how to confront caste. This project is one of the Women's Center intern's Gender Action Projects, titled: Untouchability, Caste, Saviourism, and Dalit Feminism (UCSD). There will be a giveaway to raffle a copy of "The Trauma of Caste: A Dalit Feminist Meditation on Survivorship, Healing, and Abolition" and refreshments will be provided. The screening will be followed by a group discussion on Dalit feminism and casteism at UCSD.

Letâs talk about s*x, baby! Join the Womenâs Center on May 28th from 5-6:30pm for an empowering conversation about s*xual liberation. There will be light refreshments, free condoms, and l**e! Interested in learning more about the history of the Womenâs Center and feminist student organizing on campus? Attend Jacquelineâs Gender Action Project - Resilient Roots and Feminist Futures: The Fight for a UCSD Womenâs Center! Created using archival materials and conversations with Womenâs Center alums, the event will include a walkthrough museum exhibit and zine launch documenting the 22 year student struggle for a funded Womenâs Resource Center. Come to the Womenâs Center on Wednesday 5/21 from 5-6:30 to learn more about this hidden history of student activism! The exhibit will be kept up until the end of Week 9. Light refreshments will be provided.

Calling all feminists! Are you interested in learning more about how to combat misogynistic rhetoric in your daily life? Come to the Womenâs Center on May 15th from 5-6PM for an interactive event on fighting the patriarchy. We will be discussing strategies to dismantle patriarchal narratives and brainstorming collectively about how to handle difficult situations.
