Hola Familia

Hola Familia A Spanish language education program using the Maracas123 curriculum. Promotes Spanish language education pre-K through elementary school.

Encourage participation of at least one parent in order to expand exposure to the language beyond the classroom. Emmanuel Episcopal in LaGrange has been awarded the Griswold Grant for 2013 from the Episcopal Women for the Diocese of Chicago. Jennifer Enriquez applied for the grant for the purpose of hosting a Spanish language program for
preschool age children. ¡Hola Familia! is a six week progra

m that will give students a strong introduction to Spanish, based on the MARACAS curriculum. Each 10 student
class will be 45 minutes long and will include both whole group and paired activities with a hands-on approach that encourages children to explore and investigate while
hearing and often speaking Spanish Ms. Enriquez and the Episcopal Church Women hope that the program will
be replicated at other parishes who may be willing to host a class. The class will be open first to children at Emmanuel Episcopal and surrounding parishes, and then to local children if there are still spaces in the class. . Classes will begin in January

2014. The program will be organized by Jennifer Holt Enriquez and taught by

Aleasa Green, who will use the MARACAS curriculum. On February 9 at 2 p.m. there will be a kickoff sing-a-long event at Emmanuel Episcopal. Emmanuel Episcopal is located at 203 S. Kensington Avenue, LaGrange. Website: emmanuel-lagrange.org

School District 89 in Maywood decided January 15, 2014 to open a dual language elementary school. It's opening in September 2014. Why not District 105??
