Thank you Jan Burttschell Hill & Dennis Hill for trusting God many years ago and having faith.

We are now trusting God again, as much as we may not understand. It will all work out for His glory.

In the meantime, we give thanks for every life ministered to through TRA ❤️

Thank you Quenten N Emily Gonzalez for exploring the need to say YES in the classroom.
To this day we keep healthy options available all day to children when they say they want a snack (an easy way to say YES!)

Here’s an article with more info: https://www.mindful.org/dr-dan-siegel-hearing-yes-childs-brain/

⭐Where does YES live in your classroom?⭐

The early childhood classroom should be a space built on permission.

The truth of the matter is that many educators do not consider where the YES lives in their environment.

In fact, how many times have you heard an educator’s NO. Honestly, I believe that we should strive to eliminate as many NO’s as possible.

As early childhood educators, one of the greatest gifts we can give young children is permission. When we give children permission, we are giving them our trust in their growing capacities.

As teachers, we can consciously and verbally give children permission, but we must also structure the environment and activities to reinforce it.

This allows children to take ownership. When they have permission to fully engage, children thrive.

✔️Take a little walk around your classroom and see where permission lives.

Yesterday we said goodbye to Texas Lawn Care Group!
Thank you for providing us with an affordable service for the past two years.
Our vision of an outdoor classroom didn’t come to fruition but we thank you for coming out and putting together a plan to make it come true if the opportunity arose. You all were always supportive & listened to us share about creating beautiful spaces!

Jesus tells us, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
We pray our staff find rest this summer, peace that surpasses all understanding, and joy in all their future endeavors.
We are so grateful for all of the wisdom & love our staff have poured out into the lives of our families and students.
May you all carry the tools you gained while with us out into your communities and continue to bless those around you.
Expect to be respected in the workforce, listened to, and maintain a healthy work life balance.
Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart.
Speak up when you experience injustices. Share kindness. Enjoy the sunshine and the rain. Maintain order and pace yourselves throughout your day. Call on others to help you. Handle upset with a level head in a professional manner. Praise in public, correct in private.

You are loved 🖤 You are worthy 🖤 we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you.

Thank you families for all the goodies today! We gifted our staff these socks as an inside joke & 🛫TRAVEL 🧳 bags for them to use as they begin their next journeys.

Today I want to share some stories about TRA experiences in how our staff has shown up for each other throughout the years.

There was a time where an employee did not have gas in her car and called in to work. The director went to her home with a gas tank, filled it up, and told her to get to work.

There was another time where we had a no-call, no-show. Having a good relationship with this person, the director went to their home to check on them, in an unconventional way 😂 turns out this staff overslept and was fine!

There was a staff member who was going on maternity leave but didn’t have a lot of savings. Another staff member ‘gifted’ them their PTO so this person could get paid during their leave.

Another time two staff members had a disagreement and were not getting along. One day they were the last two in the parking lot and one of their cars wouldn’t start. The other staff went home to get jumper cables and came back to get them up and running.

There was a time before TRA offered free childcare where a staff member was accruing a lot of medical expenses. Other staff got together to pay their coworkers tuition.

We’ve had staff home sick and their coworkers show up to leave soup & get well kits at their door, one time even showing up in a bathrobe!

A few years ago, we switched the bathroom door k***s around so children couldn't lock themselves in there. A teacher went to use the restroom in the kid's classroom and a child locked the door, right before heading outside with the rest of the class. This teacher was locked in the bathroom for several minutes before another staff heard them banging on the door asking to be let out.

Man! There are so many more personal stories. We’ve had such a great time together! I really do like all these people.
