If you know of any parents of Pre-K aged students in the LaFargeville School District, please share this message with them.
We are considering moving to a full day 4-year old pre-k program next year due to a funding increase included in the NYS budget to do so.
In order to make an informed decision, we are trying to contact all parents of Pre-K aged students (birthdate 12/1/21 - 11/30/22) and have them fill out the following survey:

The LaFargeville Central School District has an opportunity to move to a full day Pre-K model for the 2026-27 school year. Before making a final decision, we would like to hear from parents of eligible 2026-27 Pre-K students (LaFargeville residents with a student who was born between 12/1/21 and 11/30/22).
If one parent would please fill out this three question survey by the end of the week, it would help us make a decision regarding next year's Pre-K program.

Middle school and high school students had a great time on June 2 starting their day with "Duck for a Decal". Tiny ducks were hidden around the second floor for students in grades 6-12 to find and then show to get an awesome LCS Red Knight decal.
The 7th grade class had NO ONE ABSENT, and Grades 6, 8, 10, & 12 only had 1 student absent at each level. Way to go Knights!
This was our last "Random Act of Attendance" for this school year but stay tuned for more to come next year.

Hazardous Household Waste Collection Day is coming up on June 6th for Jefferson County, and for the first time EVER, v**e devices will be accepted for safe disposal thanks to the collaborative efforts of DANC, BOCES, Jefferson County Public Health, Watertown City Fire Department, the Alliance for Better Communities, & the Youth Alliance!
Why is this important? Disposable v**es are more than just litter — they contain lithium-ion batteries*, plastics, ni****ne residue, and harmful chemicals that can leak into our soil and waterways when thrown in the trash or on the ground. They also contribute to microplastic pollution and can even cause fires when improperly disposed of.
By properly recycling v**e devices, we can help protect our environment, wildlife, sanitation workers, and our community. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible!
*HHW Collection will not be accepting lithium-ion batteries other than those found in v**e devices."
Mark your calendars... Saturday, June 6 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm is the annual Health and Wellness Fair on the athletic fields at LCS sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension. See the flyer for more information...
