Day two afternoon consisted of the WWII Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery changing the guard, the Air Force Memorial, Marine Corps Memorial and then a late flight home

The second part of the day was spent at the Capitol and the Lincoln, Vietnam, and Korea Memorials. Over 12,000 steps later, it’s time for bed.

One of the special stories from today’s Honor Flight involves veteran Bob Fehling and his grandson, Jeremy Deckinger.

When Jeremy learned his grandfather would be taking part in Honor Flight, he requested to be the pilot for the trip.

This morning, before departure, the two had a chance to visit at the airport before beginning the day.

What a special way to honor his grandfather and be part of this experience together.
